Not sure if I can send a personal message here and I didn’t want to hijack someone else’s thread… I had a question for you 😀

I see you got awesome scores on the rest of your sections, I was wondering if you took BEC yet or was taking it soon and how you feel about it and what study materials you are using 🙂 I’m struggling a little more with BEC than I did with FAR or AUD so just looking for advice 🙂

    FAR-91 (7/29)
    AUD-99 (8/23)
    BEC-90 (10/1)
    REG-99 (11/3)

I am reading the book (Becker) right now. I am taking it in mid Oct. But I have only gotten through BEC2 right now. I have been a bit busier with work.

So far the first two chapters haven't been bad. I heard BEC3 and BEC5 are killers, question wise. Anything in particular you're worried about? I am sure some others here can offer advice about BEC. I am hoping I don't have much trouble with the rest of the book as I have an econ and IT background also. Also I enjoyed cost accounting when I did it during school.

Oh I'm sure you'll be fine then 🙂 And yeah, it's the B3 and B5 calculation questions 🙁 They're leaving me feeling very stupid. I'm scoring 50-70% on my first pass on homework and that is VERY disconcerting. Then again i was averaging that kind of percentage on FAR and did okay. I guess I'm just still riding the happy boat from AUD where I was getting in the 90's on my first try on homework and really didn't have to restudy anything :(. I really wish I had left AUD for last, it was so much easier to study than this crap. And I KNOW I'm going to suck up REG since I never really “got” tax in school 🙁

I'm just a little frustrated right now, I'm sure it'll come!

I really dislike tax but was surprised with how well I did on the test. I never paid attention in my tax class during school either since I had 3 more interesting econ classes as well. I at least found the business law stuff to be mildly enjoyable. BEC1 has a little overlap with the business law section for things like agency.

If you go through the motions seriously I don't think you will have too much trouble. Let me know if you have any questions for REG when you start studying that.

    Florica_Candidate,

I also hated tax in school and never really understood it. I felt like Becker was good for REG. I struggled a bit in R3 and R4 but not even close to how I'm struggling with B3 in BEC. So I think you'll be fine.

As far as BEC, I've seen multiple people on this site say that B3 and B5 Becker questions are much harder than the actual exam questions. My brother told me that as well. He said in a couple of the BEC clusters of questions, he was getting in the 40%'s. He passed the exam.

So…breathe in, breathe out, and just do your thing and you'll pass.

I never used becker, but rather yaeger, and the practice questions in the wiley book involving calculations were much harder than the exam. If you have the formulas memorized, the calculations on the exam are very easy.

    I second financeguy.

I used becker but the calculations on the exam (and the complexity of the questions) were not even close to the practice ones.

I almost did not use the calculator.

A couple of questions (in the finance area) were badly written and clearly ambiguous and I probably got them wrong.

    FAR - 7/26/10 - 95
    AUD - 8/10/10 - 88
    BEC - 8/31/10 - 88
    REG - 10/15/10 - 95
