    Hey RedRage,

Now that you’re a TX alumni, could you tell me how to complete the licensing requirements. I tried to go over the website but was a little confused. Specifically could you tell me what I need to get from my boss as far as work experience approval. Does he have to write a rec letter or what?

    Thanks!

The TX Board will send you a packet about a week after you receive your last passing score. It will contain all the information they need from you like the Work Experience, the oath that must be notorized, application, and a 25 question professional conducts quiz that you must do.They will also include a list of eligible 4hr ethics course that you must complete. Once you complete this ethics course you will have to print out a certificate and include it with your packet as proof that you completed it.

If you want a headstart the oath and work experience form can be downloaded from the website at https://www.tsbpa.state.tx.us/exam-qualification/certification-forms.html

The directions are on there and it tells you what your boss needs to do. He'll need to fill out the form, and include a statement about his experience as a CPA and a job description (your job).

Also, in the meantime, if you haven't taken your 4 hour ethics course I'd do that while you're waiting for scores. I did mine at https://www.societyinsight.com/si_login.aspx?BrandingID=1874

You can do a search for Texas Ethics and it should pop up. It cost $50 and was pretty easy. You can search the PDF for the answers.

Everything else you'll have to wait until you receive your packet. The 25 question professional conduct quiz they give you is pretty tricky so don't blow it off. You have to make an 85. Hopefully I passed it. If you don't they just resend it to you until you pass.

I just received my Work Experience form today from my boss so I'll be sending my packet to the board soon.

    Good luck!
