Realizing of course that he wasn't being mean, but rather teasing me as a future colleague, I just laughed it off and reminded him that the pass rates are lower today than they were back when the exam was administered with stone tablets and chisels. Eventually I got tired of it, so I brought in my study books and asked if he'd like to put his money where his mouth is and retake the exam. I've been told that I don't need the CPA is a waste of money and time. All I need is experience. Then I go on job sites to only confirm that they are wrong to say that.
