    OK guys,

Here I am yet again, like deja vu studying for FAR. Alas my Becker software expired and I was financially forced to seek other study material alternatives. I ended up purchasing Wiley TB and received a free FAR WTB textbook by donation (there are still nice ppl in the world)…

So…I sort of HATE Wiley. Most of the elections and names of methods Wiley uses are completely foreign to me being a former Becker user. My exam is in 2 weeks and I did not bother trying to re-learn the new names of methods that differed from Becker. Also, having taken the exam 3xs previously, I’m pretty sure the Wiley terms have never been tested. That being said, I’m going to hope I can make it through this 4th try without encountering them.

I’m scoring significantly lower on the Wiley MCQs than on the Becker ones. It’s like a different dialect of accounting all together. My only assurance is that if I can get at least low 70s on all the module topics AND MAKE SURE I CONQUER THE SIMS I’m pretty sure I’ll dominate the exam. Because all the other times I’ve taken it, the questions have never been worded quite as challengingly as Wiley’s.

The only question is…can I get it done in the 2 weeks left to prepare? I am taking 3 days off from work before the test day.

This is more of a rant than anything, but the pressure is so intense this time…i don’t have 150 credits so then i’ll have to take more classes before I can be a CPA and if i don’t pass this I’ll lose Audit too.

Since this is it as it looks like you have a section expiring soon – any chance you can take off more than the 3 days? If you're starting out with new material maybe its good to have absolutely as many hours as possible to immerse yourself?

I am in a similar situation : former Becker user who switched to WTB. I just had a rematch with FAR on 10/29 and will retake AUD 11/26. Work the material as if it is the first time (even though you have the advantage of previous exam knowledge). I started out worked the MCQs by section and closer to my exam I worked a mix of MCQs to simulate the exam (custom sessions of 200). The key was I made notes from each solution (not just the ones marked wrong) on a legal pad and reread the notes several times before exam day.

Stay focused and you will tackle this beast!!!
