So I got a 71. Feeling pretty defeated. I have been at this for a long time and just need to get this done. I have decided I am going to try the NINJA book, notes, and mcqs. Any tips to help me get through this horrible feeling? Good luck to everyone!

BEC - TOO MANY FAILS TO LIST! July 2015 I WILL GET IT!
AUD - AUG 2015- NEVER PASSED!
    FAR - LOST CREDIT
    REG - PASSED

I received a 71 for my FAR exam as well that I took in July so I know EXACTLY what you are feeling. I added Ninja MCQs this time around as I plan on retaking the exam in early October. As long as you stick with that and some Wiley MCQs, you should be good. But it should be stated, sometimes it comes down to pure luck in what simulations you receive assuming you didn't take the BEC exam.

Good luck dethnode as it will be a shame if you lose credit for the FAR exam if you can't pass BEC by November.

I really wish they would change to pass/fail. To me a 71 is the same as a 49 (I've had both so I can say this.) at the end of the day you still need 75 more points. What got me to an 84 was copying the ninja notes, word for word, 3 times.

thanks cpa hopeful, i am not underestimating this test, im preparing like it was my first one…. although, i feel like im not putting 100% into it because i feel comfortable with so many of the topics already. IT wont be a problem for me, I have my first degree in an IT related field.. Im averaging a 95 on that portion of review questions

Micro Economics is actually enjoyable to me…. dont know why, but it is…

cost accounting comes fairly easy to me….

the big thing im worried about are things dealing with investments and macro econ….

I've done alot of professional writing of memorandums and what have you with my time in the military, and now as an auditor, so WC isn't something I'm very worried about. I just need to punch out a shit ton of multiple choice questions and memorize some of the formulas for the financial management stuff… My finance class in college was open book, with a huge curve… so needless to say I never really learned anything regarding finance and now i am paying the piper….

worst case scenario… I am going to take off a solid two weeks in october when my wife has our second baby, so hopefully if need be I can use a good chunk of that two weeks preparing for retake if need be…

but i really really want to pass it this time so i dont have the added stress of if i fail, i lose FAR…

mla1169, that's awesome you bumped it up like that…. did you just copy the ninja notes 3 times or did you also use a review material for your retake?

    REG - 69 (Nov 14),80 1/08/15 Thank God!

I definitely wish I was one of those people who got all 4 exams done in 4 months, but unfortunately LIFE (being a newlywed, stress, adjusting to newlywed life and cpa exam study life, as well as starting a job with a Big4 which I am very happy about) got in the way, just happy that I am passing period!!

For my 1st and 2nd go at AUD I read the Wiley book each time (the 49 is a bit misleading because I only had 1 hr to spend at prometric-wouldn't have passed if I took the entire time allowed but it wouldn't have been that ugly!)

For #3 I copied 10 pages per day of the ninja notes and did 100 MCQ/day from either Wiley test bank, cpareviewforfree, or the Wiley books.
