So I just saw I got a 74 on FAR. Would have been done if I passed. I know I’ve seen this happen to people before. How do you bounce back from that? I am so over this damn thing it’s not even funny

As people say, “It's the luck of the draw,” with these exams. I saw my score this morning, and got a similar result as you.

Maybe try a different approach for this next retake, because I'm sure as heck would do that as well.

Filled with uncertainty, the treacherous journey has begun.

Remember to start over! You don't need 1 point next time, you need 75! Thus completely start over like you haven't taken FAR yet.

Good news though is you are 1 point away from passing this means you have a very good grasp of the material and luckily it is the end of the Q1 window so if you have been studying or plan on studying you can register for your exam in early April if you feel comfortable doing so. I would suggest looking at the breakdown of your score (I know its super vague) and hammer down the weaker areas of your mcq via ninja or whatever materials you use. I usually put in a solid two weeks of reading the book then do a ton of mcq before the test. Best of luck! Keep going!!!

The breakdowns are not worth the paper they are printed on. They base it on recent quarters and how you compare to others….

It's possible for your breakdown to show you were not weak in any area…and you still fail. Thanks for the feedback report NASBA.

just a suggestion. There is a large margin between weaker and comparable, but if you do get weaker on a section and that parallels with your performance with ninja, its probably best to emphasize those particular concepts when studying.

It's tough. I've been working on this for 5 years. I was at big four for 4 years and it was impossible to complete in 18 months with the demands of big four and life in general. Switched jobs and I now have plenty of time. And more money!!!! But I digress.

I had to pass REG in December or I would lose audit. For 2 weeks while I waited for my hopeful final score I played video games when I got home, picked up the guitar for the first time in forever, got to run, go fishing after work. It was the life living in post exam nirvana.

But it wasn't to be yet. I failed REG after losing credit and I lost audit. So I failed an exam that I had passed before and lost credit for an exam I had passed before. And I lost my “life” again. I was really down that day. But I had FAR under my belt and that was my biggest challenge. And I had passed audit and REG before so I knew I could do it again. Just needed a few review sessions to shore up somethings. I had a lot of pressure to pass REG with audit over my head so this time I'm more care free.

I passed REG yesterday and I take audit on Thursday. Hopefully this time I'm done.

You just have to keep going.

I do not agree with starting completely over. Yes answer all MCQ again, but I'd only hardcore focus on the weaknesses. Be honest with yourself. You know where you are weak. You don't need NASBA to tell you. Your scoring on MCQ and how much reference to material you have to do other other sections while answering questions let's you know where you are weakest. Firm that stuff up and take it again at the beginning of April.

    B EC - 82
    A UD - 77 (lost credit)/Retake 2/25
    R EG - 80

Thanks, everyone. I know where I was weak and what to focus on and I will definitely study as if it was the first time I was taking it. It's just frustrating being so close to the end and not getting there. I'll get it next time. Happy studying too all.

Things to tell yourself. Pick yourself up, dust yourself off and start all over again 🙂
A pint or two and a long walk in the sunshine helps too. It's not a medical test that you got a lousy number on.
I gotta say, it's starting to feel personal.
