A few last things for AUD…

I’m 3 days away from AUD and I have a few high level questions. Anyone care to help?

    1. Do the research questions cover anything other than AU and PCAOB Standards? Looks like Wiley Test Bank Authoritative Literature is on those two standards only.

    2. Do I really need 4 hours for this exam? For FAR I felt like time management was as difficult as managing the volume of material. For AUD, I don’t know how I could possibly burn through 4 hours based on how my sample tests have gone. Is leaving 90 minutes for SIMS a good rule of thumb or should I leave more for AUD?

    3. Wow, my brain is fried and I don’t remember my 3rd question. Been working/studying like 16 hours a day and been going 7 days a week, not to mention I relocated to Tokyo (never been to Asia in my life) two weeks ago and I barely remember what day it is half the time. I swear I had a 3rd question, but it slipped my mind. 1am here, maybe time to get some rest.

Thanks to anyone that can help with question #1 or question #2. #3 I’m a lost cause 🙂

Maybe I was going to ask for suggestions on how much time people put into studying the SIMS vs. multiple choice? Any insight on that is appreciated although I can’t remember if that’s what I originally set out to ask. I’ve been doing 90% MCQ’s and barely any SIMS.

DONE!!! Thank you A71 for all the support! Hiya!!!

    1. they cover everything at, au, etc, etc.

    2. 2.5 hours is more than enough, 1 hr for MCQs and 1.5 hrs for SIMS…4 hours if you want to ace the SIMS…I got hungry after 3 hours…lol

    3. SIMS-practice a few of them maybe 20-30…

Just remembered the last question. For anyone that used Wiley test bank, how do you think I should feel if I'm scoring around 80% on MCQ practice tests right now with two days of studying to go? Anyone feel that the test was more difficult/easier than the wiley test bank?

Wow – Tokyo! How exciting! I would love to live in another country! I hope you don't mind if I ask your reason for relocating? Was it job related?

To (sort of) answer your questions

    1. I honestly can't remember! But I think they also have SSARS and maybe some others? They are clearly labeled though so you shouldn't have any problems navigating.

    2. I used every minute of the 4 hours. I allowed myself 2 hours for MCQ's and 2 hours for SIMS. I'm pretty sure the reason they allow so much time for AUD is b/c they expect you to use the research tab to answer more than just the research question. There was 1 complete SIM I wouldn't have had a clue on if I hadn't looked it up, plus it helped me with 2 others.

    3. You're in great shape if you're scoring in the 80's. I was scoring in the high 80's/low 90's on average going into the exam, and I passed easily. Wiley test bank MCQ's were very comparable to the actual exam (I never practiced any SIMS). I even saw a few word for word questions.

    Good luck!

THANKS! That helps. I relocated for work. I received an incredible job opportunity with my current company (I'm a financial analyst for a global company and I got a chance to step up a few notches and take a temporary assignment in Tokyo for about 6 months). So far so good but getting acclimated, learning a new job, and studying is taking a toll on me!

That is a lot to have on your plate at one time… but what a great opportunity!! And thank goodness for international testing sites now 🙂 I hope you're able to get out and enjoy yourself some in between all the studying. Good luck with AUD! And don't forget to utilize that research tab as much as you can on your SIMS and you should be golden.

Thanks apbandj! If I pass AUD on my first try I will at least have a little breathing room as my 18 months expire in Aug of 2013 so if I have 14 months to pass 2 tests I can at least spread out the studying for my next exam over 3 months or so.

If I pass, I'll be taking a few weeks off (or more) from studying to explore Japan. I just found a place to go scuba diving and it's only an hour away by bullet train! So I found some pictures and saved it to my desktop. When I'm feeling exhuasted from the studying, I look at the pictures of scuba diving and tell myself, just grit out the studying and then I have some options available to award myself!
