    NINJA Question –

Do multiple choice questions in sets of 10.

I was doing them in sets of 30, 24, 20, but I was not really retaining a lot of the info. The smaller sets of 10 with a time limit of 15 minutes has proven very efective. Plus, it helps to focus more on the few questions you missed allowing to retain more of the info. Somehow it just seems more effective this way. I’ll do between 5 to 10 sets of 10. I will do bigger sets if I am combining units but the max is 20 questions only. Using this method for both REG and BEC have been helping a lot.

I know some will prefer to do bigger sets but I just saying that this has been quite effective so far.

I really like the 10 question format also, and occasionally 20, but no more than that. The short bursts of MCQs does seem to help one focus better. I always keep the instant answers on also so I can get feedback right away and learn where I went wrong.

Yea I started with sets of 30 and then went down to 20 with the NINJA MCQ for Regulation – btw is it just me or are these questions a lot harder than usual – i'm comparing them to Becker's MC's

I also think that when you do bigger sets of mcq's it causes you to lose focus sometimes. Especially when the mcq's are emulating prometric, you tend to look at the time. Ands when you see that time is winding down, you tend to panic and lose a little bit of that focus by trying to complete the mcq's instead of learning and understanding the questions and what they are asking. And I think that is where a lot of the silly mistakes are made.

@Kimboroni – Studying for REG and BEC can be very stressful and boring, so you just need to laugh sometimes. Few silly jokes after a few hours of studying is always good. 🙂

I've been doing only 10 at a time for the past 2 days and LOVE it. It let's me give in to my Facebook or food or Pinterest temptations with shorter lifespans. 🙂

I work full time. Listen to ninja during commutes, read notes when its not too busy at work, do 1-2 hrs worth of questions a day during the week, and try to do 6-8hrs in the weekend.

It's the same as doing sets of 30 or 60, just gives you a small break and it seems easier to focus on smaller sets. Just a mind game.

@sirstudyalot there's a ‘study' to go against everything. no brain is the same, no person is the same, what work for a persn works for a person. also not seeing much data to back that up against the rest of the studies related to productivity and short breaks

I feel more comfortable doing 10 MCQ, but I score lower doing 2 sets of 10 MCQ than one set of 20 MCQ.

10 MCQ session is like stretching. 20 MCQ feels more like a cardio workout.

I've been doing smaller question sets since I've started studying and so far it's worked for me. I might do 20 questions in sets of 5, but that 1-2 minute break in between really helps to let it all sink in.
