    NINJA Question –

This is only my 4th or so post and likely my last, but I wanted to put it out there that I wish I knew about this stuff sooner. Chalk it up to either a good format of material or working best under pressure, but either way I did what I wasn’t sure I could.

I took FAR at the beginning of June and was ill-prepared. I already had REG and BEC under my belt from 2014 and was trying to pack in FAR after tax season. I used the Becker course and lulled myself to sleep regularly with the videos, as I had with my other two passes (75 & 76 might I add). I took the test and made a 69…lowest score ever. Given I hadn’t tried nearly as hard as I should, but I think there is so much material in FAR that it’s hard to do it through the lectures without eventually wanting to beat your brains in.

After that, I did the Becker again and buckled down really hard over the next 6 weeks for AUD (7/10). The only problem is, that left me 21 days to take FAR again before my BEC was lost, and if I didn’t pass AUD, I would be THREE down. I was on that verge that everyone fears. I also wouldn’t get my AUD grade back until after I took FAR, so no time for celebration or anything, just immediate studying for FAR as soon as I left AUD.

On the day after AUD (7/11) we left with my wife’s family to go to the beach for a week. I spent a lot of time at the beach doing the Becker Final Review so I could get a fresh approach. It was good, but didn’t cover a LOT of stuff. I got back from the beach and decided it was time to go a different angle. I had less than two weeks left and a big amount of stuff that I needed to feel comfortable with before test time.

I came on here, read about the MCQs, saw how cheap they were and said, “Screw it. I’m giving this a shot.” I needed at least a 6 point boost over the last test and who’s to say how much of that was a fluke. Over the next 9 days after I purchased it, I did 50:36 of studying to the tune of 2744 questions with an average score of 72% and a trending score of 80.00% I still didn’t feel super confident in some areas, but I was out of time and it was do it and pass or be back to only 50% done. I beat the MCQs to death and hoped for the best.

These MCQs are legit, and if you buckle down and focus, they are a great way to learn the material. The metrics are good for adaptive learning and it gives you goals to shoot for before going into the exam. This forum content is also a good source for confidence boosting because it shows how many people succeed from Jeff’s material. I’ve already suggested this information to a couple of colleagues.

Oh, and for the result of this long, drawn out post. I got an 83 on FAR. I’m done. So if you’re looking for a fresh way, or even just a great way to study for this daunting exam, the Ninja MCQs get my vote.
