About simulation questions?

    So a friend of mine just failed his regulation exam he got 60 he asked me whether he should have answered the simulation questions by filling formulas since its like excel sheets not only to fill in the final answer? I said no it doesn’t make any difference since I passed the exam just by typing in the final answer? Did I answer him right or was I wrong?
