Accountant vs. Staff Accountant difference at an accounting firm

Is there any difference between the two titles at a public accounting firm? I worked 1.5 yrs. in industry as a Staff Accountant, passed CPA, and now started to work for an accounting firm where Auditors and Tax Accountants, all have titles of Staff Accountants. My title is “Accountant” though, but I work in the Controller Services Department (others in that dept. have the same title), where they do fin. statements for clients (no audit work). On the other hand, I will be working with our Tax Dept. Jan – Apr, because I’ve got 2 tax seasons of experience as an Intern too, and they told me that once I get comfortable with the core work, I might be involved in assurance/audit type of work too. And overall that inter-department work is O.K. in this company.

So, I just don’t get it, is there any difference between these tiles? Like, is one better than the other? If I am asked by a recruiter sometime in future about my title, what should I say?
