I understand that each company uses their own preference of accounting software, but how about some popular ones? Because I worked in public, I have not been exposed to any real accounting software other than very minimal quickbooks. So just wondering what can be a good book to read or tutorial to watch to at least have some idea of popular accounting software?

Some of the big ones are Great Plains, PeopleSoft, SAP, and others I haven't named. These are more difficult to learn outside of a job because the training alone is pricey.

With QuickBooks, you can just order QB Pro off Ebay and teach yourself how to use it. You can also subscribe to Quickbooks Online and teach yourself how to use it.

If you want to learn the larger ERP software, then you will have to work for a large company. Otherwise, if you want to stick with working for small to medium sized businesses and accounting firms, then QuickBooks would be a great place to start.

I have been on this journey off and on for over 10 years. I think it's about time that I wrap this up.
