I have an interview for an industry accounting job. Might be a 50k job. I took a personality test and they said I did well on that. Now the staffing agency who is setting me up for this said I’ll go in, take an accounting test, meet with people, etc.

I think I can handle the test, but I’m worried about having a brain fart! lol. What could possibly be on this test? Has anyone had experience with this?

I’ll probably read over my packet of journal entries just to refresh myself.

My current job required an accounting test during the interview. It was very basic such as you buy linens with cash – what is the JE….

very basic in my case and they were just looking to see if you understood debits, credits, etc

I've heard of a few places giving really hard tests, but it was not so much to test your knowledge but to test how you do under pressure

One place I interviewed at had a test on booking bond interest including amortization of premium/discount on straight line basis.

I went for an interview once and they had me do a “test”. They had me prepare a transmittal letter for financial statements, I also then had to take data and perform variance analysis and compose paragraphs using the data that would theoretically go into financial statements. It was brutal.
