Hi all,

I have searched through the internet and I am getting a little confused regarding the changes to the exam, and when they are going to take place. It appears that the amount of multiple choice questions and sims aren’t going to change until 2017? I previously thought that this change was being enacted as of July 2016.

Can someone please help me understand how many of the following are going to be on the July 2016 REG CPA exam?

– Multiple choice

– Sims

– DRS

-% Weight of multiple choice and sims as it related to the final grade

From what I have read on the Becker site (the review course that I am using) the only change will be the introduction of DRS.

I think the actual exams change April 2017 but starting July 2016 they will throw in a DRS sim for some exams – which might even be pre-test questions. Someone let me know if I'm wrong. I'm taking my last exam REG on June 4th and hope I don't have to take it again, especially in a more difficult way..

It's only the DRS that will be added in 2016.

2017 has big changes you can read about here:

I really think 2016 should be used to experiment/collect data with DRS and not count it towards the score. Maybe they will do just that but never openly say it so people give full effort to the DRS and do not just leave it blank or enter some random answers to blow it off.

On my last FAR exam I had one DRS and it was pretty easy over AP with emails and memos etc.
