Advice Needed: Don't want to cut it too close

    Hello everyone!

So I failed FAR again (2nd attempt) and I am scheduled to take BEC for the first time on 4/20.

If all goes well with BEC, FAR will be my last test (x-ing fingers). My Audit credit expires 11/25/13. I want to be realistic in my plan for FAR and avoid giving myself too little time to review FAR but at the same time I want to give myself as many chances to retake if need be.

The way I see it I have two options: (with a HUGE assumption that I pass BEC)

Option #1: Take BEC 4/20 (pass) and take FAR in the same testing window (probably 5/31)

Option #2: Take BEC 4/20 (pass) and wait until the 3rd testing window and take FAR 7/1

What do you all think would be best?? I appreciate all the advice and help in advance. 🙂

Take both in the same window. One month should be enough to restudy being that you have already taken it twice before.

    FAR - 10/3/12 - 86
    BEC - 11/27/12 - 70 1/14/13 - 81
    AUD - 4/4/13 - 87
    REG - 7/8/13 - 80

    Rjcpa: Thanks!

I want this to be the final time I'm taking FAR…so that's my only reservation about taking it in the same testing window…but come to think of it… I've previously given myself SO much time for FAR that I think having too much time has been part of the problem.

Go with option 1. That will give you six weeks to prepare for the final meeting with FAR. In order to decompress your mind, take off the night when you finish your BEC exam and then hit the FAR material the next day as if you have never seen it before. Remember you need 75 more points and not 7.

    Good Luck!!

I would say option one. I didn't pass FAR my first time around. I gave myself about 6 weeks to go over everything again. I also bought the Yaeger Cram course and did MCQs like crazy. I added 12 points to my score and ended up passing! So I would advise not to take too much time on FAR (I think that is what hurt me the first time. I took about 3 and a half months to study which was way too long!) Just make sure you review everything again because like candothis said, you need 75 points, not just 7!

Good luck with both exams and let us know how it goes :)!

    FAR: 65, 77!
    AUD: 72, 72, 80!
    REG: 64, 84!
    BEC: 83!
    Ethics: 98!

I'd retake it in the same window, you have nothing to lose really. Then you can continue to study for whichever section, BEC or FAR you think you were less likely to have passed while waiting for your scores just incase you didn't pass.

    FAR - F (2011), 5/16
    AUD - F(2011)
    BEC -
    REG -

2nd attempt at this thing. Time to get serious.
