    Hi all,
I am taking my FAR exam on Tuesday 9/6. I am feeling decent (keyword decent NOT good) about majority of the topics but feel like bonds and governmental are giving me a hard time. Would you recommend going back and rereading/watching the videos on those areas or keep cranking through MCQ as many as possible? I am able to steal a few hours from work M-W and then off from Thursday until exam day. Any advice would be great!

    AUD - 93
    BEC - NINJA in Training
    FAR - 81
    REG - 79
    Good luck everyone!

MCQs only and as many as you can handle. Read and understand why the answer is wrong and why the correct answer is right. I would only watch a lecture if I needed a fundamental understanding of the overall concepts. Actually learning to apply the knowledge comes from doing many MCQs.

That depends on YOUR learning style. I have Becker and I don't get much out of the lectures. What helps me is I dive into the BOOK and make pages upon pages of notes.

My advice, if you don't understand the MC, doing more of it isn't going to help. Don't memorize, UNDERSTAND. Get into your book, understand the concepts, then do the MC.

I'm taking the test on Friday. I never reviewed as I went along although I should have, just didn't have the time. Anyways, I just did the MC for deferred taxes last night and got 100% correct. I'm not trying to brag and I'm not any more intelligent than the standard accountant. I just made good notes and made sure I understood the accounting, and that was more than a month ago.

Good luck. Get good sleep, eat healthy, drink lots of water, and remember to breath.

Gov't sucked for me. But the best thing is to keep making notes. Look over the questions and see why you got it wrong. Evaluate your thinking and understand why you chose that answer and start trying to change how you think about those types of questions.

I think bonds tend to be difficult because test makers add more info than you need to evaluate your answer. Keep practicing them and see what info you need and you don't, then it would be easier to solve. Also, keep practicing journal entries for these questions, it'll be a LOT easier.
