    Hello

I been on and off on my CPA Prep for the last 2 years but work and life used to get in the way and I used to give up. I have finally decided to take FAR this May 24 and would like to know whats the best possible way I can progress without any road bumps.

I am using NINJA Notes, Wiley Focus Notes, Wiley Test Bank / Book and Yeager 2012 Lecture. I know some materials have changed for Yeager but I am using it just to get the basic ideas and plan to learn the changes from 2012 to 2014 materials.

I used 2012 for 2013 early last year and it was all same.

If you guys have any advise and what road map I can take, that would help a lot. I am currently trying to pull atleast 2 hrs weekdays (with some distractions) and around 4-5 on weekend.

I have a total of 92 Days before the exam with 7 days of break in between.

    Thank You

One of the items that Jeff has mentioned in the past is Budget your time. Get his free ELL and use it as guideline and schedule your studying so you know when you should be studying and when you should be off. I added the exact times that I would be studying into his ELL which will force me to actually study during that time as I have already written it on paper.

    FAR: April or May 2014
    AUD:
    REG:
    BEC:
    Scared: 100

FAR first and only attempt: 2014 Wiley textbook, 10 Pt Combo, and WTB

I only get one try to have to give it my all and try to get 75 on my first go around.

-The only thing that stands between you and what you want out of life is the will to try and the faith to believe it's possible.

My advice would be master a chapter and a half per week. Allot yourself 3 weeks of review time.

As of now, I am doing doing lectures then MCQ in book (1-3 days depending on the CH). Then re do my notes as Jeff mentioned. Next I try to do the MCQ in Test Bank to test myself and leaving one blank day to review before I move on to next topic.

My advice is try not to let the exam overtake your life. I hear many on here talking about how they had to cut off family time and extra activities to study. I know in the long run it works out but coming from a person who suffered from major depression in the past, it's not worth your mental stability and the stress on your body. I ended up in the hospital because of the CPA once. Too much stress and not enough of a balanced diet(potassium levels plummeted).

I just got my new FAR Wiley book and I will be studying probably 2 hours per night during the week(if I'm not exhausted from my day) and 8 hours on the weekends. That still leaves time for me to play with my kid and chit chat with friends and family. You need an outlet.

Set a schedule and try to incorporate relaxation time in there. Don't be so hard on yourself. I have a history of doing just that.

    REG - 78
    FAR - 79
    AUD - 76
    BEC - 75

I have been on this journey off and on for over 10 years. I think it's about time that I wrap this up.

    AUD - 10/21/16 (75----07/2010 expired)
    FAR - 10/28/16
    BEC - 11/2016
    REG - 01/2017

Understand the concepts more than working some complex problems. For example, rather than simply understanding how to account for bond issues, understand what would happen if the interest rates go up or down.

Secondly, study what people say is NOT heavily tested even harder.

    CPA - Since 2015
    CISA - Smashed 2012
    CIA - Passed 2015

set realistic time tables. We all want to finish this test, but there is no contest. so don't feel like you can't reschedule if you run out of time.

    It begins with a 75

Love the advise offered so far. I actually reschedule my FAR exam today from 1st week in April to the last week in April. I agree it's best to invest the time and get it right the 1st time . I started the video Lectures but will redo my whole study plan today and start from beginning. I will not move on to another subject until I fully understand the current subject.

Tip: If you don't understand a subject, don't rely only on your review course, ninja notes, etc.. Use youtube, investopedia, etc. Plenty of resources. You will get it !
