Energy drinks? Coffee? Light Dinner? Workout?

How do you find the energy to study after a long day at work?

I felt like it was best for me to just hit the books right after work – don't even give yourself a chance to relax after work.

I concur. I usually study right after work at my desk until 7, maybe longer. Since my test is coming up soon, I'm upping the hours each night. I usually try to stop before 8 so I can have a light dinner. Try not to have energy drinks after work or else it might mess with your sleeping schedule. If I'm tired, I tend to listen to EDM.

Do not give yourself time to relax after work. Your mindset has to be that this is an extension of work, its not two separate things. The day is over when you're done studying.

I would go home. Run a few miles. Then study for 2 hours. Usually was ready to unwind by 8:30. Was a grind. I hope to not have to do it again. Come on March 9!!!!

Coffee is the trick BUT you have to do it in moderation. Save coffee for when you need it. That helps me a ton. Other than that, after running, I want to do nothing. It's so hard!

Do whatever is necessary! Most people recommend powering through it and studying immediately after work. That is a good technique, and I always tried to do that. That was my approach for 90% of this past year.

But. A couple months ago, I was EXETREMELY tired, so I took brief naps immediately after work. When I woke up, I studied and it was effective. Yes, that meant that I studied even later into the night. But the extra boost of energy was much needed.

Also, studying during your lunch break is good. But there were times that I was so tired, that during lunch I'd nap in my car. The lunch time naps made it easier to study after work.

    Good luck!

I'm writing from a single perspective so it may differ from your situation.

After work, I'd give myself a 15-20min break and study in a quiet room at work. I'd have coffee (or tea if that's your preference). Caffeine will be your best friend. As someone said before, don't drink too much towards the end of the day bc that'll mess up your sleep schedule. I'd study for 3 hours after work. I also gave myself a day off on a weekday because you wanna catch up or gain ground studying on the weekend.

Married with kids and a crazy busy job ~ I would come straight home and study, all night. If I had to make dinner I would, we ate out a lot or had easy dinners. I would spend some time with the kids and do the bare minimum of house work and everything else. I also went in to work early for 2 hours of studying any day that I could. Weekends revolved around studying. So basically every possible moment was studying or accounting at work.
