    NINJA Question –

BEC is coming at me like a freight train and as this is my last section I really want to guarantee success here more than ever (which is amazing because I had no idea this feeling could get worse).

I use Becker. Now, Becker has done something right because I passed my first three the first time. However, as we all know, their questions are so much harder than actual exam. I get what they’re going for but sometimes I just get exhausted and I just want to see more of a mix you would see on the exam. They just make things too hard sometimes.

This is where you come in. I have the BEC audio but I am thinking of getting the MCQ. Now, would you say your questions are more of a mixed bag or do they lean a little to the more difficult side? That would be fine, in all reality I am probably going to buy it anyway but, if you have time, I just wanted to get some insight on how your MCQ bank would differ from my Becker questions.

Of course I would love to hear from anyone who has insight….thank you!

Maybe I can answer your question, as an Ex-Becker user. BEC in Becker is absolutely ridiculous IMO.

Becker – multiple choice questions are mostly multi-step problems. To get the answer, you have to calculate A to get B, then multiply B and C to get answer D.

I am now using Ninja for FAR, and am assuming it is the same for BEC. You get questions just how they are on the Exam. Straight forward calculate this, and there is your answer.

    CPA EXAM: DONE!!!!
    Ethics Course: Passed
    Application Mailed: 3/16/15
    Professional Conduct Exam: 97
    Certification Date: 4/2/15!!!

I remember some previous posts a few months back where people were worried about the difficulty of the BEC MCQ in particular – they were harder than their provider's questions (I don't remeber which courses they had). The consensus from those that chimed in was that yes, NINJA MCQ for BEC can be tougher than expected, but it pays off on exam day.

You'll also get benefit from the adaptive learning and trending metrics, I beleive.

    I hope that helps 🙂

I would suggest getting the Ninja Audio. I used it for AUD (my final section) and it really helped a lot. The audio really helps bring everything together nicely. I imagine it would be good for BEC also because of the nature of the exam.

Thank you all for your responses, this is helpful.

The main problem with Becker is that you're so used to such complex (multi step) questions that when you get to the testing center it's tough to trust that an answer can just simply be “that” straightforward. I really think it takes away from the element of having to learn how to take the test as well.

Jeff, fair enough that the questions are difficult, as they should be. I think it will be a good supplement and I am looking forward to trying it out. @ruggercpa I am putting my trust into your opinion 😉

Just do it… You won't regret it.

I think Jeff and his MCQ are one of the main reasons I passed this beast of a test!

I took BEC and studied with Jeff's MCQ. I had an average & trending of 58% and passed. So yeah, I think the questions are harder. But they are effective.

I have been working the Ninja MCQ all day and Jeff it's really fantastic. I am not quite sure if you'll check back into this post but if you do I am so curious to hear about how you made this program happen!

I have had a few questions that I had in Becker but for the most part they're all new. What I am most curious about though is the citations at the bottom. They are so fantastic! Did you design it?

Just still blown away at how different it is. What a great product!

And everyone who talked me into it…thank you!

I think my BEC experience was different than a lot of people's from what I see on here… about half of my actual exam questions consisted of multi-step calculations, just like I had practiced.. not straightforward like people claim.

I spent so much time on the calculations that I left one written communication completely blank. Luckily I was prepared enough for the MCQs that it didn't matter. I'm so glad I studied those hard calculation problems!

After many failures on AUD and BEC the Ninja MCQ is what helped push me over the hump.

    REG - 78
    BEC - 74, 67, 69, 69, 70, 79
    FAR - 76
    AUD - 69, 69, 69, 74, 85

It's interesting that you passed FAR and REG on the first attempts and then struggled with the other two. A lot of people seem to be the opposite!

If I fail FAR this time I might buy the Ninja MCQs. I'm nervous and I don't feel prepared.

Yeah I thought that was odd as well. I think it's because I've had professional experience in FAR and REG topics and for AUD and BEC I had to rely on college and since I graduated in 2005 I had forgotten a lot from college.

    BEC - 74, 67, 69, 69, 70, 79

I used the Ninja MCQ and the Becker book for BEC. It worked for me .

I highly recommend the MCQs. I liked Wiley until they changed their format last year. So they'd why I went with Ninja, glad I gid.
