So I am taking FAR in 9 days. I still will need 2 more days to finish up Govt. accounting and NFT chapter. I have been slowly progressing through the Wiley CPA excel book by reading each chapter and doing the MCQ/SIM since late May(so about 3-4months now). I plan on buying the WTB after finishing up the last chapters in the last 2 days.

I took off work and planning to cram/review for 8 hours a day. Should I just reschedule or is this enough time to pass this monster? I plan on reviewing and just cranking out MCQ and some SIMs but I just wanted some reassurance that it is passable with the amount of time that I have.

    FAR 81
AUD 65, 84 (Used Ninja MCQ which I say contributed to my huge increase in score I love you Jeff)
REG 87 (CPA excel Wiley Self Study Book, Ninja 10 point combo)
BEC 86! I Must Pass or I lose my FAR Credit, Pray for me(Becker, Wiley, WTB, Ninja MCQ, Ninja Notes)

    DONE!!!!!!

Using : Wiley CPA Exam Review Textbook, Wiley TB, Ninja Notes, Ninja MCQ

Gov and NFP are about 24% of your grade. If you are risking not finishing that material, and/or not understanding them, then reschedule. Unless your NTS is expiring, then just take it, and maybe you'll get lucky.

Do decide soon though, I believe it'll only cost $35 or so to reschedule now but increases to $66 if you cancel within 5 days of your scheduled exam.

btw, I took 4.5 months to study FAR. It took me a good month to go over every question in the WTB, though I couldn't take time off work so maybe it'll be different for you. On the weekends I could do about 125 questions a day, in about 10 hours. Every time I got a question wrong, I wrote down the question and explanation.

    Good luck!

@Stgeorge: I'm in the same boat as u..taking FAR on the 25th and still have a long way to go. I would focus on Govt and NFP and try to master that..which is what I'm trying to do at the moment. I think it's doable if u can get an overall review of everything a few days before the exam.

Maybe I was lucky, I passed FAR with 75 at my first try. The two days before the exam I used Becker flashcards, no more MCQs. As with you my weakest spots were Govt and NFP, why I especially focused on those flashcards. On the other hand this was before I discovered NINJA notes, and if I had known, maybe I would have chosen a different approach.

    MS Accounting, MBA

    AUD 76 2/25/14 – Becker

    FAR 75 3/8/14 – Becker

BEC 86 5/3/14 – Becker + NINJA Notes (this is the point were I discovered the another71.com)

    REG 84 5/23/14 – Becker + NINJA Notes & MCQ

CPA MA 7/24/14 (+ CGMA designation)

    CMA pt1 410 6/28/14 – NINJA BEC book + Gleim MCQ

    CMA pt2 sched 9/2/14 – Hopefully NINJA FAR+BEC book + Gleim MCQ

If I remember right, the gov't and nonprofit questions weren't too in depth. If you have a decent grasp of fund accounting, expenditures, and the statements required for each fund/entity then I would say go for it. You can even view it as a test run and get a baseline after the score release as to what and how much more you need to study (if at all).

    Goodluck!

9 days is plenty of time. I went from feeling completely lost to being very confident in about the same time span. You need to make sure you have a strategy for those 9 days, and then follow that and go ALL IN those days. Make sure you cover NFP and gov for sure, but do not spend too much time reading at this point – get the NINJA MCQs and do like 150 of them every day, and read specific topics as needed.

If you can push your exam a few more days out in August to give you some relief, do it. The most important thing is to walk in feeling confident!

That being said, I think 9 days of straight studying will give you enough time to finish lectures and do final reviews. That's the equivalent of 3 wks of studying for me, and that's about how long i take to do my 2nd, 3rd, etc. reviews of the material before an exam.

    AUD: 84 - Oct. 2013
    BEC: 83 - Feb. 2014
    REG: 91 - May, 2014
    FAR: 68, 96 - Oct. 2014...DONE

Thanks everyone for the confident booster. I have really focused on govt accounting and will finish it up today and NFT chapter is not nearly as long. I will def be spending at the very minimum 6-7 hrs in the last 9 days which really means 9-10 of committed time I took off work for 2 weeks for this so I am motivated. I have a good grasp if all the previous chapters but will need to review. My plan is to be done with the material by tomorrow night. Starting Saturday which gives me 10 days I will be using Jeff's ninja notes a long with some of my notes to review chapters and review the sim questions for the chapters. Also gonna purchase the WTB and do MCQ with each review and as each day goes by I will add covered topics to my mcq's. I just really wanna pass this exam… It will be the first one I'm taking! I already cut off all distractions and won't be seeing my gf till after the exam no matter what I doubt when I finish or when anyone takes FAR they come out thinking they raped it but I just want to know I did everything I could in the last 10 days. GL everyone, everyone will be in my prayers!
