I failed my REG retake again with the same grade as before and once again stopping me from finishing this stupid exam. I definitely studied harder and felt better equipped this time around so I was surprised that my grade was not even close. I have heard of people who printed off the schedules and forms for reg and said it helped them. can someone please give me a list of the ones you think I should look at? Also feel free to give me any advice that might put me over the hump. Another 67 cannot happen in January, I do not want to have to go through this again.

Since you've taken REG twice, like me, I would just try to think back. Which forms do you wish you would have studied more for the exam? I'd go from there.

i am in the same boat as you. my first attempt for reg was 67 but retake i got a 65. i dont know what happened. i did becker questions like million times i was so sure i know how to do every single mc. i thought i did better than the 1st attempt and my score was lower. but honestly, my first attempt sims were way easier than my retake sims. my retake sims were like crazy. i have one sim i have no clue how to begin. i need help too.:(

    AUD - 77
    BEC - 78
    FAR - 79

I got a 73 twice!! I am actually switching to Ninja for REG as we speak. I think a big part of my problem is that I have memorized so many of the Becker MCQ and sim answers that I am really not “learning” the answers.

Mary 2496 – i think i am the same. i did becker ques so many times i feel like i just click on the right answers and not learning new stuff. 73 sucks but you are close i need like 10 more points 🙁

    AUD - 77
    BEC - 78
    FAR - 79

66 on REG retake, 73 the first time. If forget what it's like to actually receive a passing score, it's been so long

    AUD - 75 ☺
    FAR - 65, 71, 70, 77 ☺
    BEC - 80 ☺
    REG - 73, 66, 79 ☺ 2/28/15

    Done!

1040 and Schedule A are a must. For the 1040 I would focus more on chunking items together. E.g. what items are above the line deductions vs. below the line? What are miscellaneous items subject to 2% on the Schedule A (easier to remember the other categories on the Schedule A IMO).

    I printed and reviewed these:

    1040

    Schedule A (itemized)

    Schedule B (int/div)

    1065

    1120

    1120S

    1041

    K-1

    6251 & 4626 (AMT)

I paid the most attention to 1040 and its schedules, but the others are good for a brief skim.

Are you sure you put in the right NTS number?

kimborini- i honestly thought i had put in the wrong one at first but unfortunately i did not. im honestly still kind of shocked, i thought i deserved a better grade. it must have been because of my sims and the fact that i got two research questions which one is obvy a pretest did not help. overall im very disappointed that i will have to study through the holiday season.

Alright guys I'll tell you what happened with me in REG. On my first try in August I got a 73 although I felt really prepared but the exam was very hard. Since the information was already in my mind and since i took the exam in the end of August, I decided to take the risk of scheduling my exam as quickly as possible the first of October . Now I recently received my score and i got an 83, what did I do for the retake? Simple, I sat down analyzed my weaknesses (had a big problem with entity taxation) this topic made me fail the first time I was sure. So I focused on this topic and other topics I didn't beleive they could be tested the first time and bought the Wiley test bank. The test bank was super beneficial I think it helped me a lot to raise my grade. Btw just for the records I didn't print any tax form to memorize or anything and Im an international student. If I can do it you should be able to do it.

everyone keeps asking what forms to print but your not guaranteed to get a tax form as a SIM. I agree I would know the general outline of them and especially the 1040. I had 0 tax forms as a SIM but I also failed so what do I know 🙁

Yeah I personally didn't have any tax forms as simulations the two times I took it. Was expecting some, didn't get any.

I would use the tax forms to get an idea of how the info flows, like maybe look at the corresponding form while you do various calculation problems, but deff not worth memorizing.

    R - 90 2/27/2014
    F - 75 5/25/2014

Yeah, I think it's really helpful for the big picture and remembering where things fall, not necessarily for sim preparation. I'm very visual, so having those in my head gives me a mental resource to refer to for itemized vs. “for AGI” deductions, for instance.

Sadly joining this topic….got my score of 74 last night. So mad! Last time I used Roger for lectures, plus Ninja MCQ and Ninja Audio to supplement. I just added Ninja Notes – hopefully that will help me get the extra points I need. Bah!

Is it a smart idea to almost split my reg book in half and just focus on tax for maybe 2/3 of my review time until I feel extra strong and then tackle law as it gets closer? I wouldnt say im weaker or neglecting law at all, I just think tax is where my sims will come from which is what I need to improve.
