    Hi All,

I have 41 days to prepare for BEC. I work full time, married, have a 7 year old. I can average 20-25 hours a week of studying and am using Yaeger. My credit for FAR expires in June so I have to pass BEC on my first try. I am having to trust that I passed REG which I took yesterday but I can’t wait to find out because I don’t have much time left. I normally take copius notes when watching the videos but think this may take too much time and for REG it did not really help to absorb the material. I can watch the videos, use the NINJA notes and add my own comments. I am not sure I can learn this material just from doing the questions as Jeff suggests in his 20 day plan. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

    FAR 61 78*
    AUD 73 76
    REG 64 68 75
    BEC 60

    *expired 6/9/13

Ibiliv there was a similar question yesterday you have over 5 weeks and at 20 hrs a week that is plenty. Food for thought I used yaeger and took notes when Cindy wrote…mostly multiple choice but some formulas and other notes. I highlighted the sections she went over and took 3 legal pads of notes after all videos were done. I also did and took notes on all wiley MCQs. I think you can do all that in the next 41 days and then some.

Roger CRAM and Ninja Notes, along with killing MC questions in either WIley or Gleim test banks/books.

I think you're fortunate that BEC is your last one. A lot of ppl tend to pass BEC with less tries than others. And if you work in a field that invovles business, then you are already a step ahead. Yeah you should study like crazy, but remember 80% of the stuff you study don't even appear on the test. And for BEC, that percentage probably increases to 90%. BEC exams test really random stuff, but it could so happen be testing you on something that you learned from your work. BEC is essentially what the other three exams didn't want to test you on. So there is less computation, long mnemonics and etc.

Just make sure you give every section a shot.

I had a very different experience than the one described above— EXTREMELY heavy on the computations, so please be very concerned with knowing the formulas in the BEC book. I also used Yaegar and Wiley Test bank and studied 200 hours… (failed with a 59)– not to scare you but this test is all over the place in terms of what it covers and in my case it had a lot of information that wasn't even mentioned in my textbook which contributed to my overall extreme test melt-down… (grin)…

I'm sure you will do great- but please pay attention to the computations.. I listened to advice like that before I took it the first time and sort of skipped over some of the more difficult computations and guess what I found ALL OVER THE STUPID test???? okay- so you get my point? For me, it was probably 50/50 or 60/40 (60 being computations)… some people have very few computations, but you won't know until you are sitting in front of that computer… so prepare for the worst and hope for the best.

    Good Luck~

I did BEC in under 30 days. I wanted to take the exam before starting my next set of classes and that is just how the timing worked out. I did it while working full time, although without a kiddo at the time. It is doable, but you do need to be very focused and efficient with your time.
