So I really don't know how to study for the 3rd time. I used becker and wiley 2011 book and MC. I don't want to buy updated 2012 material. Think it is necessary? I can do the multiple choice again but I feel like I know the majority.

I recently took REG and I'm prety sure I'll be retaking it in January. I was concerned that i should get all updated material but Jeff mentioned in his podcast that the material for REG isn't expected to change from 2011 to 2012. I would stick with studying the 2011 material and doing the MCQs.

@bluecrush73, so you already have the Wiley test bank and Becker's test bank? You definitely need new questions. What about Gliem? I've never used it but I've heard good things. I know what you mean when you say you know all of the questions in your review material.. I would buy another test bank

I was in a similar situation as you, so here's what I did. Ask yourself: What topics do I completely suck at and hope they don't ask me. Make a list and attack those. Forget the ones you know very well (save those for last but still do it to refresh your mind)
Here are specifics for each of those topics you suck at:
- read out LOUD (for me, my mind tends to drift off when I read quietly, then i ask myself "what did you just read?" and my response is "yeah, that girl at work was pretty hot, i wonder if she has a boyfriend... who cares? i'll talk to her tomorrow and... aahh!!! dammit you moron!! focus! no girls!! CPA!!!")
- write notes (possibly rewrite it)... yes, this is time-consuming but trust me, it's very effective
- do the questions... for the incorrect ones, know WHY you got it wrong and write it out
- if you have a study buddy, let him/her mention a topic and you explain it in detail, as specific as possible... if you don't have a study buddy, doesn't matter... think of a random topic and explain it to coworkers, friends, family, random people at bars/parties (yes, i do this... they get annoyed but i don't care... whatever it takes to make it stick)... cuz as you're explaining it, you'll realize if you legitimately know the topic... if you stumble halfway into it "Sch. A = acronym COMMITT... M = medical... it's medical expenses minus X% of AGI... damn! what's X?" so then you make a note in your phone and review it next time you study
you should theoretically do this for all topics but if you don't have time, screw it... focus on the ones you're not confident on

Thanks for the advice everyone. I feel like I know the material really well just can't do simulations. Last time I got comparable on the MC and weaker on the sims and this last time I got stronger on the MC and weaker on the simulations. Does Glem have good simulation sample questions?

you can do it! I just took exam in 11/28th passed with 88.
In the past, I got 72 and 73. and this time i got 88! I was studying for reg again after exam because i automatically thought i failed again.
I was weak in taxpayer, circular 230 parts and SIMS so i concentrated on those. but studied other parts together too.
i used SIMS for Gleim and taxpayaer and circular parts for BECKER book.
hope this will help you seems like you are almost there to pass like my situation before.
