    Hi,

I am studying BEC right now and feel that it is harder than FAR and AUD, which is contrary to many people. I am wondering whether my study method is right. Any one experience this?

    AUD - 91
    BEC - 90
    FAR - 93
    REG - 94
The best is yet to come..

    FAR - 93 (08/24/2014 - First down!)
    AUD - 91 (11/21/2014 - Second down!!)
    BEC - 90 (02/26/2015 - Third down!!!)
    REG - 94 (05/29/2015 - Touch down!!!!!)

    Here comes my touch down!

Not harder necessarily, but more random. I feel it is not as easy because a lot of is memorizing the terms (IT and ratios) or doing calculations. And I just took it today and I think I have to retake it

It's just super random. Once you get through all of the material you'll feel much better and relieved it isn't 1/5th of what FAR is. It's a lot of garbage memorization of definitions. Don't get all caught up in the panic of memorizing every ratio and formula.

You know what's funnyis that there is so much IT materials in the review but barely anthing on the exam. I had like 4 units in Gleim and think i only got 2 questions total on the exam.

I my self have cleared FAR and AUD, and studying BEC scheduled for Feb End…Can't agree more feels like I am going to see this again in second quarter. It's Annoying one chapter on cost another on IT and suddenly economics pops up…how much content change…Playing mind games…

Haven't done with my first review..But feeling nervous already…

Hope all of us pass this time…

    Aud: Surprised me...Thanks

Definitely! This exam incorporates almost all of my other weaker college subjects so I'm practically learning most of it from scratch. I just got through the lessons on ratio analysis and I quite seriously don't have a clue about what I just read. As intense as the other three were, I feel they made more sense than this stuff and I was able to pick it up easier. Luckily I have till Feb 28 so I still have a good amount of time to pick it up. I never utilized flashcards for any of the other exams but I well may for this one. Good luck!

Wait until you get to REG. Personally I feel BEC is the easiest and the most straight forward of all the four. Once you get past the study phase, BEC becomes easier. Also the WC sims are a blessing, a very low hanging fruit if only you just knew how to write a basic letter. I wish I kept BEC for the last, REG is really killing me now.

    FAR : 71, 83
    AUD : 73,88
    BEC : 87
    REG : sweet 82 and DONE !!

I actually agree with you. FAR had a ton of material on it but I've always felt that Financial Accounting is one of my strengths. So FAR was really straightforward for me. Lots of material but I understood it all and felt I nailed the exam.

BEC is just much harder for me to wrap my head around. I'm just not as good with these concepts as I am with “pure” accounting ones. Some days I feel like I don't get this material at all. And my exam is on Friday…

I felt the same way, BEC the hardest for me.

The initial study (for chapter 2 & 3 in Becker) was so confusing. The MCQ reviews gave so many variations that the textbook didn't really explained clear enough.

But when I finally understood it, the final review felt faster than any other sections I had taken.

Like everyone keeps saying, this section is really random.

Well I dont really have much say since I have only studied for BEC and REG and have only taken BEC,but I would say from my experiences, BEC material is honestly not bad. I just graduated from college though and a lot of the material was familiar, like cost and economics. The IT was brutal but as my test date approached, i just made it a habit to review IT a lot and it eventually sticked.

The REG material is a lot more challenging because there is just so much more to know and all the exceptions, rules, pneumonics, etc. The BEC MC exam is really tricky though compared to the material. You are guaranteed to get questions on topics you have never seen before. As for the writing, I feel like its a “gift” because it is super easy and I would rather have that instead of simulations

Tough times don't last. Tough people do.

@Mjganier I think I am going to schedule the exam at the end of Feb. as well. Now I am going through my second time of the book. But my correctness on MCQ sometimes is even lower than the first try……Don't know why that happens…

For me BEC has been the least difficult, but by no means is it easy though! I use Becker and the chapter with the efficiency, spending, etc. variances is probably one of the chapters I struggled with the most out of all the concepts.

I will say that I never walked out of the test feeling all that confident (hence my scores, haha) but I do like how the SIMs are essays–I feel that they've always saved me from being average on the MC.

Easier to study. I thought I knew it very well but came exam day, the only section I cried for, ha ha ha. As other said in other posts, it's a witch with a capital B. But if those courses covered are your strengths, then it should never be a concern at all. It's my last section and the lowest score of 83 I got compared to the other 3 sections. 🙂

Looking at how well you did with FAR and AUD, you'll ace it.

Anything worth doing is probably not easy, but the rewards are worth it. (unknown)

For those who have taken BEC, how would you rank the topics in the order of importance? Also, would you say that the exam is equally theory and calculation problems?

    AUD - ✓
