Extremely burnt out, down, depressed, stressed out and hating life. This exam doesn’t leave any room to do anything in life and just eating my life away and away..exhaustion is not the word, I have no words to describe especially that life issues alone are hard enough then the exam disallows you to fix anything in your life.

Misery loves company, I’m sure I’m not the only one here..

I am extremely burnt out. testing on 11.29 like you. I'm on my last one and I have been at this for 16 months. I have 3 kids and a full time job. I am moody, no fun to be around, snapping at my husband and my kids, and I miss a lot of things in their life and in my life. I keep telling myself that the misery will end soon, the benefits will be for everyone involved, my kids are young and 2 of the 3 probably won't remember this time. I should have focused more along the way and I could have been done sooner. Woulda, coulda, shoulda. Where we are right now is that we have 1 (for me) and 2 (for you) exams left and then we are DONE. Focus on that and not everything you have given up. It WILL be worth it. You won't remember all the things you missed as much as you will remember the joy you feel when you get that final passing score and realize that doors that weren't there before will be there now. Study for these last two like you studied for the two that you passed. You are halfway there and could be done with this thing in 2 months. Don't let what you are missing deter you from what you are doing right now. Prevent more retakes by buckling down and focusing the first time. It will be over soon and then you can start new, fun memories with those that stood by your side during this journey. I have lost friends over this because I couldn't go out when they wanted to. Those people don't qualify as friends because they didn't stand by me during one of the most stressful points in my life. Don't let anyone make you feel guilty for what you are missing. Focus on you right now and those that matter will still be there in the end. Good luck on Saturday!!!

I hear you..I took and past REG 2 years ago. Got busy with work put the books down and it's d been on my mind ever since. Started studying again in July with REG expired I took aud and passed and just took far. This routine is annoying but I'm planning on not touching a book until dec 2. Then getting focused again. Just remember you're not the only one and it'll pass. How long you been studying for the exams?

I started in January 2013. Its been a really long time, it's not even really about missing out on things but I have a lot of other stress to cope with aside from this and it's like I support and live with family in a small house and can't even study at home like I have to go to work or the library and it's just everything is frustrating. It's been so long it's driving me insane.

I agree that no one going through this can truly understand. They try, but it doesn't always help when they make statements like those. That's why being a part of this forum can really help because you know everyone here is going through it or has done so recently. Just try to remember that they probably come from a good place and think they are being encouraging, but come here if you need people that truly understand. It's not easy and it doesn't matter if you're smart. it matter how bad you want it and what you're willing to go through to get it. I have no advice for the other stress. I'm not good at handling my own except that I try to focus on one thing at a time. If it is a study night, I tell myself, “Well there's nothing I can do about that other thing right now so I better get in some good studying.” Try to compartmentalize if you can and only focus on those other things when you aren't studying. It's much easier said than done, but you're so close to being done. If you can't change those other things then you're just wasting good brain space worrying about them. Good luck!

I personally have found the CPA experience to be very isolating. Surprisingly so.

@beautifulNim–I agree completely. I try as hard as possible to alleviate the isolation by participating in the study groups on this forum. Getting to know each other a little bit. Rooting each other on. It helps me feel like I'm not alone in this. So much so, that on score release day I feel nearly as excited to see their passing scores as I do my own. It's amazing how much that makes a difference to my frame of mind while going through the process.

I thought I would not really break down until the next sunrise of the score release date (after getting a score of 58, while others here keep bragging, “Oh, I pass all parts in weeks, days, seconds, blah blah.”).

For now it would be: “Who is BITTER than us? Nobody!”
