Anyone else perturbed by dates in this format: 20X3 or 20X8

Drove me nuts when I was studying for FAR. I’m assuming that they use those dates, so the review courses don’t have to change the questions every year. Somehow they think seeing 20X1 is better than 2001.

My ingrained habit of skimming and the trick questions didn’t help much either. Well, trick questions is another story. Especially with FAR, it seemed like the test makers were just hoping that you wouldn’t pay attention to the date being March 30, 20X2 instead of December 31, 20X1 and of course they had that exact wrong calculation in the answers. This is more about past exam questions in Wiley and Ninja. The actual exam MCQs didn’t seem quite so tricky.

    FAR- 88- 6/16- (Ninja Avg. 74%)
    REG- 89- 7/16- (Ninja Avg. 77%)
    AUD- 95- 8/16- (Ninja Avg. 81%)
    BEC- 82- 9/16- (Ninja Avg. 75%)

Yeah, I absolutely detest it. It only makes things trickier for the exact reason you mentioned.

    FAR - PASS
    BEC - PASS
    REG - PASS
    AUD - PASS

    Done and licensed!
