Anyone ever pass a section without studying?

I am just curious whether anyone ever has passed a section without specifically reviewing for the section of the CPA exam and instead relied on what they learned in school or at the job?

    A: 77 11/4/13 Wiley Test Bank

This is a stupid question. Would you not study the material at school or on the job? Studying is studying.

After taking the auditing accounting class I thought I could pass AUD, but I was studying the textbook and Gleim at the same time (for the class only).

    BA Mathematics, UC Berkeley
Certificates in CPA and EA preparation, College of San Mateo
    CMA I 420, II 470
    FAR 91, AUD Feb 2015 (Gleim self-study)

MOD, why are you calling this guy stupid? There are no stupid questions here. You dint understand the question. I think he wanted to know if someone straight out of college or with enough experience was able to pass a section without going back to his or her books. You dont see that often cause most people forget 75% of what they have studied after a few months or a year.

I did study for my reg exam but I feel like I could've passed it without studying. I work in tax and am fresh out of school. I took law my final semester. While studying through Becker, none of the information seemed new to me.

I think its possible, given you were a stellar student, and are taking the exam as close to finishing the relevant course(s) as possible.

So no, its not a stupid question as M.O.D. was nice enough to point out (who appears to have never sat for a section lol).

I got an 88 on BEC with two weeks of studying, don't think its out of the question to assume I could have winged a 75+ without studying.

I know an auditor who told me he got a 75 on FAR without studying. He may have been exaggerating but yes I am sure someone, somewhere has passed an exam without studying.

M.O.D. seriously skip the name calling. Its just not necessary.

    FAR- 77
    AUD -49, 71, 84
    REG -56,75!
    BEC -75

Massachusetts CPA (non reporting) since 3/12.

I guess it is possible but it depends I think AUD is possible if you are straight out from school and perhaps REG if you took courses for business law and tax. Not so sure about FAR, I think that would be super hard to pass if you didn't study the actual materials for the CPA exam.

As for BEC, well I think that again depends. Some folks find it a complete nightmare. While others seem to excel more easily here.

Personal, I would not recommend not studying at all. I think its best to study the material and then only can you gauge how much effort you need to put in to pass the exam.

    Good Luck!
