Everyone talks about what a best that FAR is. Anyone have any good experiences with FAR? Was it anyone’s easiest exam?

It's a beast to study for, that's it. Actual test was very easy. So easy, I thought I failed. This is just my experience though, sounds like it will be easy for you.

    AUD - 99
    BEC - 84
    FAR - 93
    REG - 87

I hope so. As long as they keep the questions basic, I should be okay.

I'm not trying to scare you but I've passed every section in one try – some of the exams I studied harder than others. FAR I easily studied the hardest for – 2 months every day after work, all day on weekends. I didn't see friends, I barely saw family, my life was completely dedicated to FAR. I also felt the most prepared for this exam than any of the others. Come exam day, I thought the FAR MCQ was the hardest I had seen on any prior test and couldn't tell testlet progression like I had been able to for the others (with the exception of audit.) I see people complain about SIMS but I've never been overawed by them and thought I did well on them. I had two windows to pass FAR before losing a credit and will have one more if I'm unsuccessful. My advice is to hope for the best and plan for the worst. Good luck on your exam.

    AUD: Pass
    REG: Pass
    BEC: Pass
    FAR: Pass

I wouldn't say it was easy but I didn't personally find it to be overly difficult. It was all material that I have had exposure to from undergrad and grad school multiple times so none of the material was completely new.

    Far: 76 (Wiley Test Bank)
    Aud: 77 (Wiley Test Bank)
Reg: 61, 76 (Wiley book, Wiley Test Bank)
    Bec: 86 (Wiley Test Bank)

Now I wouldn't call it easy, but I think it's overblown. The exaggeration of its difficulty is what causes most people to focus that much more on FAR, and therefore they are over-prepared. If you study, you will be fine.

It was the easiest for me. AUD didn't have enough #'s so there was no way to know I passed (you know how they can mind trick!). REG was BY FAR THE HARDEST. I had to go home and drink after that guy. BEC was my last test and I only studied about 4 weeks (I know others study less) but there were SO MANY RATIOS! I literally guessed on a handful of questions. Couldn't even narrow down to 3 – just straight up guessed on those b's.

FAR is the most ridiculous to study for but actually taking the exam, I felt like I knew what was going on…BUT, it really is luck. I just happened to get questions on the material I had my arms around. I even got 3-4 questions on the same exact thing (which is weird b/c they only have 90 questions to cover all that material) and 0 questions on entire modules that I just so happened to not understand.

    FAR - 87 2/18/14
    AUD - 84 4/2/14
    REG - 87 7/23/14
    BEC - 78 8/26/14

I haven't taken FAR yet and I am hoping that I get lucky and get questions that I know. It really is super hard to stufy for this section since there are sooooooooo many materials all pack in one. *sigh* Becker users, I have the 2013 FAR book, is that still okay for 2014 FAR exam?

THISGIRLNEEDSTOPASSHERCPA – I think you should be OK with 2013 Becker but I wouldn't even go there when your test is so close- no need to add extra stress!

Do you have ninja? Maybe purchase the ninja questions so if there are any differences you will see them?

@THISGIRL, First, love the email signature, faith is what brought me to my goal! For the FAR book if you have an active account with Becker you can order the 2014 book for like $15 including shipping so I would do that just in case. If not maybe take a look around if its being sold for cheap. If you can't get the new book I couldn't imagine it being a huge problem for you. Good luck!

    FAR 66 (07/01/13), 75! (10/01/13)
    AUD 64 (08/12/13), 80! (11/23/13)
    BEC 84! (05/22/14)
    REG 77! (08/28/14)

@determined and @freyer Thanks for the replies. Yeah, Im super stressing. I was planning on reading the whole book two days before my exam. I only did the becker videos, mcqs and sims. I do have ninja notes so I will probably just read that. I just want to cover ALL bases. I do not want to study for this test again:( It's soooo much materials ugh!.Thanks for the suggestion on the book @freyer. I didn't know we can update our books for just $15!

I can't talk about the comparison of FAR to other sections because I only took FAR, but I definitely found the exam to be on the easy side. After reading all the horror stories about FAR… I was pretty pessimistic going into the exam, and I was pleasantly surprised. Becker's MCQ are much harder. The SIMs were not difficult at all. You just have to know your stuff. The little details. I finished the exam in about 3 hours, including about 20-25 minutes of just reviewing the SIMs.

Having said that, maybe it sounded that easy because I had no clue what's going on. I don't know. I haven't gotten my score yet.

I wouldn't say that any of them are easy, but relatively speaking, FAR had my easiest MCQs of all 4. I felt pretty darn good about it after the first 3 testlets! (The 4th was a different story…)

FAR has so much material, and it was my least comfortable subject matter (until I got to BEC). So I prepared for FAR a lot, and it paid off. Even though I struggled with the SIMs, overall I ended up with a pass, which was great because I did not want to study for FAR again.

But, yes, people probably do tend to overprepare for it due to its reputation. Don't let it get the best of you!

    AUD 84 (1/9/14-Wiley books/TB + free materials)
FAR 83 (5/21/14-the above + NINJA 10 Pt Combo Lite)
    REG 84 (7/9/14-Wiley books/TB + NINJA Audio/FC/Notes)
    BEC 76 (10/5/14-Wiley books/TB + NINJA Audio/FC)
