Anyone not look at their score right away?

My Reg score comes out in a few days and I don’t even plan on looking at it. The reason being is that a confirmed failing score will just make me even less motivated to study BEC. So I’m just going to keep studying BEC and take it on the last day of this testing window. Then I’ll take a much needed bit of time off in June to catch my breath. At that point I’ll check my REG and BEC scores together to see which one(s) I need to possibly take again.

Has anyone else ever taken this approach of actually not checking your score? I’m just afraid that a failing REG score will really have me unmotivated to study BEC.

    FAR 75

    REG 69, 71, 83

    REG - 69 April 2016 (WTH? Test I got isn't what I studied for)
    BEC - 81 June 2016

I have read about people waiting. I don't think I would have the discipline to wait that long. Do what you think will be best for your mental state for preparing for the exam.

    A - 79 expires 4/30/16 need a pass on REG
    B - 78
    F - 80
    R - 83!!! Can live again!

I have heard of people waiting to check their scores till after taking the next test for the exact reason you mentioned, in order to not lose momentum, and also of people waiting till after a vacation or party or something else because their spouse demanded they not be a party-pooper. Waiting till both scores release is a little longer, but there's nothing wrong with waiting that long.

One consideration: some states send letters and/or emails with either a score breakdown or a “congratulations” depending on whether you pass or fail. If you're in one of those states, you may need to avoid the mail box or set up a filter on your emails to make sure you don't see the email and accidentally get news you wanted to wait for.

ETA: Personally I never waited to view my results, but I also wasn't one of these that was up at 1 am refreshing the page all night long. I usually was at work when my results came out, since my state releases them during the business day, so I'd check it as I had an opportunity around work. Sometimes, if my work for the day involved being around coworkers more, I'd put it off till I had some time away from everyone in case I failed, cause I didn't want to have my face tell the story before I was ready to tell it myself! My last exam's scores came out during a very busy time at a brand-new job, so I had to wait to check it till lunch break, since I didn't know these coworkers enough to risk having a meltdown around them, and I was still in training so I couldn't get off by myself very easily.

If you have the willpower to not look, I think that's a good idea. Except for studying for a retake, there's nothing you can do about a fail (hopefully, you passed!). I waited on my first 2 scores because I was confident I had passed (but by waiting, it was just until the next morning, lol). AUD messed with my head too much to wait and FAR, being my last one, there was no way I was waiting on that. 🙂

The frustrating part is that I strutted into REG thinking I was going to ace that thing. I knew my review course material down cold. But I'm being generous by saying that 2/3 of my MCQs were not covered by my review course.

I do not stay up or get up at 1am est. I wait until we get up to for work at 4:30am before I look at my score. I'm waiting on the 24th so I can see my BEC score from the 30th.

If you study you will pass.
Thank you to my wonderful wife who spent many hours calling out formulas and quizzing me on notes. We did it!!

I used Roger. I thought he explained the material very well, and I felt more than prepared. The issue was that say Roger covered a dozen different items on a particular topic. I would see that topic on the exam, but it would be over something that Roger never mentioned.

It was a weird feeling when I walked out of prometric. Even if I didn't pass, I don't feel like I failed. I couldn't have been more prepared.

@oldercandidate21 and @mbf512, I used Becker and was scoring high 80-low 90 on all my practice tests with Becker. I felt pretty good going in to the exam and I might have known 5 MCQ on the thing. I came out thinking i might have made a 65. i made a 66. There were questions on subjects i know are really FAR. I wasn't sure what to do, so I just scheduled a retake and spent about 2 weeks doing a few practice tests. Seriously, I was already scoring high 80's log 90's on my practice tests, what else was I supposed to study? The second test I got a 77.

I think a lot is just what test you draw.

    BEC - 8/8/16
    REG - 66, 77
    AUD - 81
    FAR - 9/8/16

@livealittle. I also had a few FAR questions on my exam. One of my TBS was also a FAR question… It would be nice if they changed the rules and let you take a section twice in a window. I would much prefer to take a REG retake if need be, as opposed to studying for another section before taking my retake.

    FAR 75
    BEC 81
    AUD 71, 84
    REG 69, 71, 83

@oldercandidate21 I just read what you said about REG and that you used Roger. I had the EXACT same opinion on recently taking REG, and I also used Roger. Every question I felt like I went over but the answer was something I never knew, or learned.

livealittle, how can you score in the high 80s and low 90s with Becker and then get a 66 on Reg? When you got your score report, were you at least comparable on MC? What was your average with ninja before the exam?
