Just curious, has anyone ever taken any part of the CPA Exam in the evening. I’m attempting to schedule AUD in November, but the day I wanted, only has an evening slot for 4:30 – 9:00 p.m. When I took REG and BEC in 2012, I had 8:00 a.m. slot for both exams on two different Saturdays. I failed REG with a 74 and BEC with a 69, so maybe getting up early for the morning test slot had something to do with that.

    AUD - 83
    BEC - 79
    FAR - 77
    REG - 90
CMA Part 1 - 360 (Barely made it but I made it)
CMA Part 2 - 360 (Made it by the skin of my teeth)

    REG - 74, Retook 6/10/16, scored a 72 (Hate this exam)
    BEC - 69, 79, 8/1/15
    AUD - 83, 4/4/15
    FAR - 77, 2/27/16

Yea I'm kind of debating if I should take an evening exam for FAR or not. The testing center thats 10 mins away from my house has only evening left for the dates I want but the other testing center thats 45 mins away has earlier time slots available. Of course the one thats closer is more convenient but at the same time I'm not liking the idea of a late exam.

Yes! My first exam I ever took was AUD and it was at 4pm! I ended up doing pretty well on it. I like those time slots because (1) you dont have to wake up extra early and you are well rested and (2) you have a few hours before to review your notes. and like you said, waking up early for your past two exams didnt seem to help, so maybe taking it it in the evening when you are well rested will help!

I've taken two exams at 4:30. It was just fine, but if you're one of those people that is more awake early in the morning (read: inhuman) then it may not be that great

I haven't, but I've taken all of mine so far at a 12:30 slot and I have to say having those extra few hours in the morning for last minute prep is great. If I did an evening slot I'd probably laze around all morning until noon-ish and then cram a bit before heading out.

    REG - 87 (Becker)
    AUD - 96 (Becker & Ninja MCQs)
FAR - 85 (Becker, Ninja MCQs, Audio and Blitz)
BEC - Last one! Waiting on score release 11/24!

I don't know how I feel about evening, but I LOVE afternoon exams. 1-4 is my sweet spot. I've never been a morning person, my brain works so much better in the afternoon. This way I can sleep in, not have to stress about getting there on time. In addition, there are no lines so I can usually just walk right up and start a little early if needed. This just gives me time to eat, do my silly exam day traditions, and just get mentally prepared.

Evenings for me, I would be afraid that I would just get a little sleepy especially if I didn't sleep as well the night before. One exception, for those of you lucky people who don't have a day job, maybe you are used to working nights or not working at all but are on a generally later sleep schedule, an evening exam could work out ideal. Those with a day job, and who are not morning people, I put an evening better than a morning but not as good as an afternoon.

    MBA,CMA,CPA, CFF?, ABV?
