Anything new in 2016 I should be aware of for AUD?

    Hi everyone.

I am on the home stretch. I only have AUD left. Started last August. 3/4 finished. Failed AUD twice. 71, then 61. About 140 hours total spent on audit so far. I have it again in 2 weeks. I want to overprepare.

    Here’s what I have:

    – Ninja MCQs

    – an old 2009 Becker’s AUD book

    – a 2014 Wiley CPA excel review question book (a huuuuge book)

Any tips on anything new I might need to study this year? Thanks in advance.

The biggest one (and is a really big one) is the clarity project. It came out around 2011/2012. The 2009 Becker book won't be covering that.

Also the SSARS was updated sometime between 2014 and 2015. I had 2014 Roger and Gleim books, both of which completely redid that section by the time I took it in Q4 2015. So the 2014 wiley book will be fine except for that. You'll need to find a way to get fresh material on that subject, which is a semi-substantial part of the exam.

you can always get ninja notes which are relatively cheap to do the final review. those will have the updates. also the actual standards are free online so going through the AU-C, which are the clarified, may be worth some of your time. reading through a few to know which ones exist and to understand format and layout will help with sims

If you have Ninja MCQ that gives you access to Blitz through the weekend. It's a great review of all the major topics. My exam is on Tuesday and I plan on watching it again this weekend. I'd check out the practice exam too if you haven't already. There's a couple sims on there that you might not expect, like adjusting entries. I need to go over them this weekend because Roger doesn't mention them at all.
