I got my score report back… I got a 74 (2nd one in this journey!) and I had stronger on three topics, comparable on three topics and then MCQ I was stronger but weaker on SIMS….How do you practice SIMS???? I mean I have the ones from my study material but anyone have any good tips??? I am obviously doing well on the MCQ and know the topics fairly well. SIMS is killing it for me! This is for REG by the way.

    AUD - 79 (lost credit), 75

I switched to Gleim because I heard the SIMs are very similar to the actual exam. After having taken REG 4x, I can truly say that it does mirror the exam. The look & feel of each SIM, the IRC, and the actual questions are much better than WTB. And they give you 60 minutes to complete the SIMs, which mimics the actual exam.

I am afraid I am going to end up with your score of 74, with 69 as my latest score. What I mean by that is, I am afraid I am going to improve on MCQs, get stronger on more of the topics, but fall just short of a 75…hope that doesn't happen.

    Good luck!

I maintain that the best way to prepared for the SIMs is to practice MCQs. I've yet to see a practice SIM anything like the real thing so practicing the SIMs to be is not very beneficial.

However, for REG, the Authoritative Literature is the only way I survived. FAR and AUD I didn't even take a look, unless it was for the research question.

Search the web for how to properly “search” for something. Look for key words or phrases to search for in the AL. But at the end of the day the AL is going to seem like another language unless you already have an idea about the concept.

    Good Luck!

The thing about Sims is that once is a while you'll get a Sim that is from another exam section. So be on the lookout for it and do the best you can to follow the instructions to the T.

Second, when you guys are practicing the Sims, make sure to understand why you got it wrong. Read through the explanations. A lot of which is often dumb mistakes like not reading what they are asking. I did that a lot.

You also have to understand that Sims themselves are just a different way of asking the same questions using concepts that you have already learned.

My tip would be for the last week or two, if you feel that you are pretty good with mcq's, just work and study the Sims the last week or two. I did that with both REG and AUD. I spent 3 days before my REG exam just going over all the Sims. For AUD, I spent a week and half working on nothing but Sims. If you look a both those scores, you can tell it work. Plus when I checked my score report, they both showed that I was stronger.

I have the same problem with SIMS, golfball7773, how did you jump from a 65 to a 77 in reg? I recently got a 68 and need a jump like that!
