So I just realized I don’t have the accounting communications requirement needed to take the CPA exam, I have a Masters and know some of the classes I took cover this but my university said they won’t approve it so I am going to take the class, but I was wondering how long it takes to get the Application of Intent approved? I am going to have some time off pretty soon due to being laid off and was thinking about just studying for FAR alongside the class so I can be ready to just schedule to take that first part before I go back to work. I just don’t know if time will permit and I will just not remember anything I studied from waiting to get through all the red tape. Is it doable or should I just take the stupid class and do it after?

You are in TX? I sent in my AOI knowing I was missing things. Then when I took my last classes I sent in the updated transcript and it took right at two weeks with a holiday weekend in the middle.

Mine was not quite two weeks. Mailed on 2/5/15 and approved on 2/18/15.
