    Hi guys!

So I have started the Becker Self Study and am starting with FAR. My goal was to get FAR and BEC done by the end of August but I’m realizing that this may be impossible. I wanted to get as much done as humanly possible before I start with KPMG October 1st. I just graduated (BSBA Option Accounting, Option Corporate Management) and had my degree conferral expedited. Well, as of yesterday (6/19) I was able to send off my official transcript and remittance form with payment and overnighted it to the board and I filled out the online application. I have confirmation that both arrived today (6/20). From what I hear, it takes 4-6weeks from this point to process before I can schedule my exams… Is there any way to expedite the process to be able to test in this window? Any tips or tricks? Do you guys think it’s reasonable to plan to take it by August from your experience? If not I’m going to need to adjust my study schedule accordingly!

    I’m in California.

Is anyone else in the same boat? Any help or guidance is appreciated!

    AUD 81 (10/4/14)
    REG 74, retake 1/3/15

CA is stupid slow right now. I've been waiting two weeks now for a repeat application to go through so I can get a new NTS. I think it was easily a month turnaround for my initial application.

It's definitely frustrating to say the least. I'm going to give them a call hopefully today to get a more accurate estimate. The last thing I want is to do all this studying now and not test until October. Definitely a bummer to be June grad!

My experience: even after my state (Florida) “approved” my application I still had even more waiting to do. I think they approved me around June 10th and it took until June 16th for the NASBA to send me my “jurisdiction ID” number, which they required for me to register for my NTS. So that's an extra 6 days down the drain. Then, I registered for my NTS. It took 2 days for it to “process” and then they said from that date (June 18th) it could take an additional 3-5 business days to actually get my NTS (and this was e-mail delivery). Luckily it only took 1 extra day, I had my NTS by June 19th. If you look at those dates, though, it could've been so much longer. June 18th was a Wednesday, so 3-5 business days could've cost me an entire week more.

So it took 9 days after Florida approved my application before I had my NTS. Luckily the prometrics close to me had plenty of dates still open, even for early July when I planned to take the test.

Since I don't live in California I can't add anything relevant to how long it'll take them to approve your application. Florida was really quick about it, but I imagine California will be hellishly long. I also don't know how NTSs are handled in California, but if it's similar to how it is here, right now you're waiting to wait some more, so…

I don't really know what I'd do in your situation. It seems like a waste for you to sit there doing nothing when you could be studying, but if you can't schedule for August, that's 4 months of studying for FAR in October, which seems very excessive and I imagine will do more harm than good.
