Apply on PwC website-does it work?

I am an MAS student just graduated this semester without a job offer. I have noticed that PwC recently posted several new jobs on its featured job page. I am wondering what is the chance of getting an interview? I reached out to the campus recruiting managers of those areas and got confirmed that those job postings were open.

Your chances certainly don't go down by applying. However, I would think your best chances would be through communication with the recruiters. You've already addressed your interest, send them a follow up email when you have applied with a copy of a nice cover letter and resume and hope for the best.

@ARCPA2B: Yes that is a good idea. When I emailed the recruiters, they just told me to apply online. Do you think they would check my cover letter and resume sent through email? When I sent the first email, I attached my resume though.

About two/three days after the recruiter told me she was still recruiting, the job listing closed. No further information from them any more.

Yes it does work. I applied in November and was contacted in December last year. I had no public experience besides an internship. The lady said she liked my resume a lot and gave me a call. She set up interviews and everything. This was the Houston office if it matters.

Does your school have someone that the recruiters go through? That's definitely the better bet. I've applied to so, so many big 4 jobs online only to get a “sorry, you suck” email the next day. I keep in touch with my school's recruiter, she put me in touch with a Big 4 recruiter about an opening they had and now they want to chat with me. Fingers crossed that I can slip in that I passed REG and she'll forget entirely about asking about my crap GPA.

@waffle_house Oh wow! Were you an experience hire by then? I contacted the Houston recruiter and she said no more spots though.

@Tuffy11111 What a great news for you! I did not heard about someone that the recruiters go through. It really sucks sometime that you have no idea if there is an opening.

@ARCPA2B I sent my resume with a cover letter to the recruiting manager. No reply yet. Let's see what will happen.

Talked to a recruiting manager in one office and she said they were still trying to fill some spots and asked me to apply online. While two/three days later, the job listing closed. I have no idea if they already filled to spots or they were working on the future process. No rejection, nor future information. I tried to contact that manger again but did not receive anything. It is frustrating.

Yeah they'll all say the same non-sense like “we're done hiring for the year.” Total BS. Keep trying it'll happen eventually. I applied for the experience hire position but she said since I didn't have experience she will get on on as a “campus hire” even though I've been working industry for a year. Sometimes you can get lucky like that. And the opportunity wouldn't have came if I didn't apply in the first place.

@waffle_house Thank you so much for your reply. I guess you worked in the industry for a year, so you can apply to experienced position. I am a new grads, it might not be away for me. Any way, I will keep trying.

Yes but they don't count industry experience as experience. That is why she wanted to put me through as a campus hire. Just make an awesome resume and you'll get more luck 🙂 (I didn't even bother with a cover letter lol). Also, this wasn't the only big 4 firm to contact me at the end of last year and I applied for both online.

@waffle_house That is great to know. I contacted PwC campus recruiter at our school but said that I could not attend campus recruiting anymore. I will apply online next semester then, as it seems like big four almost finished recruiting for this year.

Oops I should of read your post. So you just graduated with no job offer. If you really want big 4 then I guess you will have to be patient. But I would just apply at different firms to get some experience then transfer to big 4.

@ waffle_house Yes that is what I am trying now. Applying somewhere else while still trying Big Four. Just seeing that there are still campus job listing on PwC is the only reason to have this post.
