Are REG sims supposed to feel like "brand new" material?

So I’ve been studying for REG now for I’d say about a month now using Becker. I’ve gone through the multiple choice questions 3 times for the first 3 chapters and twice so far for the rest. I skipped chapter 8 to get to review quicker but will do that at some point next week. My exam is February 26th so I have 2 weeks still to study.

To make a long story short, I’ve been doing pretty well on the multiple choice questions so far, some areas better than others of course, but still pretty well for where I’m usually at in terms of studying. But these simulations in Becker feel like a completely different language compared to what’s focused on in the multiple choice questions. Like when they give you an actual tax form and ask you to fill in things, the very specific numbers, the ENORMOUS amount of background information, etc.

Is it just that Becker’s simulations are THAT difficult or do they just not do a good job of “reinforcing” the little details that the actual sims on a real exam would have? As of right now, my biggest fear for Reg is the sims and I don’t know if 2 weeks is enough time to review everything AND get these little details down.

    DONE!

yes, they should. that's why i don't get why anyone would skip sims, they reveal a ton of info. you get more time to do them so you don't have the constraints of multiple choice, where you at least have 4 options and 1 is guaranteed to be right.

it's just the nature of sims and really the whole point of them, more flexibility for them to test the material. my advice? focus only on the tax simulations, your chance of getting a b-law sim is slim to none.

The reason sims are tougher is because you can research those little details in the literature. You aren't supposed to know them all, but how to figure them all out.

My REG sims on the actual exam were bearable. I was very worried before the exam but as I was doing them, because I knew the concepts, they were a little better to get through. Just keep studying and stay positive.

    DONE!!!!

Used Becker online. Who needs a text when you can burn your eyes out staring at the screen for months on end?

"Let me tell you something you already know. The world ain't all sunshine and rainbows. It is a very mean and nasty place and it will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it. You, me, or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life. But it ain't how hard you're hit; it's about how hard you can get hit, and keep moving forward. How much you can take, and keep moving forward. That's how winning is done!"
