Arizona Licensure – CPA Reference Letter Question

Does anyone have any experience as to what should be in the reference letter? I just want to make sure the CPA writing the reference letter includes everything that the board expects. It seems like it is supposed to be a pretty basic moral character reference letter. Maybe I’m overthinking it. Anyone have experience they’d like to share?

I'm in AZ and I sent mine in about 2 months ago(they lost my ethics exam so I had to mail in the certificate). Agreed that it is pretty broad. My letter basically said that I have good moral character, that I'm a hard worker, and that I would represent the profession well. It was pretty brief, about half a page.

My application will be approved/denied on August 20th I can't tell you if it was good enough or not :/ . My guess is that you're overthinking it, Since morals are such a big part of the profession, I think they're just trying to cover their bases.

    Good luck!

Swammer – my name is on the agenda for approve/deny at the 8/20 meeting too. From what I understand, unless there was an issue that came from the certification committee meeting the 8/20 board meeting is simply a rubber stamp process. The board approves whatever the certification committee meeting recommends. You would see that in the minutes from the July certification committee meeting minutes.
