I’m new here. Sorry if this is addressed elsewhere (i can’t find it)

Of the Big Four which is the easiest to transfer internally from audit to advisory/consulting? And which is the hardest?

Obviously Deloitte is known to have the best and most established consulting practice, but I’m trying to evaluate the ease with which one can go from audit to advisory/consulting – not how good the consulting practice actually is.

Vault ranks Deloitte as having the lowest internal mobility and PwC as the best (of the Big Four), but is this accurate? And if so does it also hold when specifically talking about internal transfer from audit to consulting?

Would appreciate any help/thoughts.. Thank you!

I know it can depend on WHO you work for as much as where you work. Some partners will let you hop around whereas others my demand that you stay put.

Disclaimer: I'm not Big 4, but my wife has been with one for the last several years. She complains about this to me on a somewhat regular basis. At least I think its complaining- I glaze over when she starts to talk about work.

All in all, there is probably some truth behind the vault rankings I just wanted to make you aware that it still may very well be at your partner's discretion.
