Hey guys. So I took AUD for the third time yesterday. The first time I got a 60 but had no idea what I was doing. I studied completely wrong. The second time I studied my butt off but barely concentrated on studying the simulations. I was weak on sims and strong on most mc and got a 70. This time I studied all sims and felt much better coming out of the test than last time. I didn’t skip any of the sims but still don’t think I got them all correct. I’m confident on 3 or 4 of them. Also, my second testlet on mc was more difficult than the first which I hear it’s a good sign but the third had way easier level questions. Does that mean I got a lot wrong on the second? I’m stressing out. I will be so pissed if I failed this one third time around. Any suggestions to boost my confidence? Do you think I passed having gotten half or less points on 3 full sims?

From the circumstances you are describing I would guess you will be around a 75. That probably doesn't do much to calm your nerves, but at least it gives you some hope. You can pass while doing poorly on 3 sims as long as you did well on the other three and the research and at least average on the MCQ's.

If it makes you feel any better I did not think my testlets got any harder, and was sure i failed. I was also only confident in 2 sims.

Well first off it was my first CPA so that didnt help. And because I had talked to people saying the questions got wordier and mine never did I felt it maintained difficulty. My point is there really is no science in guessing a score, but it is always good to feel confident on SIMS. I felt confident in 0 SIMs in FAR and my grade was lower compared to AUD where I felt good on 2 1/2 SIMs. I think guessing the difficulty of a testlet is a crap shoot.

I'm on board with TaxGod there. It's very difficult to differentiate between a medium testlet and a hard testlet. I've passed all mine comfortably so I am guessing I've seen some hard testlets and the only one of the four tests where I could tell was my second testlet on REG, which was insanely difficult. The rest of them seemed similar. You won't know until you see your score.

@Witty I had a similar experience in my FAR retake where I had a medium testlet/difficult testlet /medium to easy testlet. I actually freaked when I saw how easy the questions were in the 3rd testlet so I knew I had screwed up in the second testlet. Anyway, I did my best and moved on to the SIMS and thought I did ok with those. I remember leaving the test center thinking it could really go either way. Thankfully I got a 79. Not super high score but definitely passed and that's all that matters. Wishing the same for you! 🙂

Ah ok yeah I don't believe in the testlet differentiation factor to estimate ones score either. we'll see how it goes!

I'm just more scared about the sims. Last test I basically skipped a whole one bc I took too long thinking about another one and was sure I bombed 4 out the 7 and still got a 70. So hopefully this time I'm okay I know I crushed 4 including research.
