    Becker Questions –

    Hi guys,

I just took the first practice exam. Just reviewed half of the material (A1-A3) and got the following scores

    T1 – 57

    T2 – 76

    T3 – 67

Should be worried? I take the exam in less than a week…I’m sorta freaking out.

I would review the remaining chapter and see where you stand then. The Becker exams are usually 10-15% harder than the real thing. I think I had an 85% on my first practice exam then a 67% on the second (was freaking out after the 2nd one).

You still have around a week to go and AUD is only 6 chapters so you have enough time. Very normal to be freaking out about now.

    FAR: 90
    AUD: 94
    REG: 84
    BEC: November 25th

AUD didn't even start to make sense to me until the last week before the test, so you can do this. I stopped with the online studying and just sat down and reviewed the book (Becker).

    AUD - 77
    REG - 73, 80
    FAR - 69, 73, 79 and DONE!
    BEC - 82

IMO the actual exams for all sections are harder than the becker practice, especially the SIMs. But it is still helpful to do. The scores you have are actually really good considering you havent even looked at the last 3 chapters yet.

@cpasucks23 Do you think doing the SIMS would help? I haven't really spent too much time studying those. I've been focusing on getting the material down.

@1koolcat Ah, I'm really hoping that Sampling and Transaction Cycles start to make sense. I've bee struggling with those, any suggestions?

I've looked at Amanda Loves to Audit videos on YouTube and it helped a little.

For those who use Becker – I have a “dumb” question, how do you know your overall score on the final exam? I took the practice exam but it provides me breakout of each sections? Thanks!!

@ amb 2588 – Thank you! Okay – Just wanted to make sure I am doing the math right…

This is final exam 2 –

    MCQ:

    Testlet 1 – 43

    Testlet 2 – 57

    Testlet 3 – 67 —> Total (43+57+67)/300*60%=33%

    SIMS:

    Testlet 4 – 100, 73, 80, 65, 40, 75, 100 —> (100+73+80+65+40+75+100)/700*40%=30%

So total is 63%??? I am totally wanna cry!!!!!

    I did a little bit better on Final Exam 1 MCQ – 70, 70, 57 but worst on SIMS – 40,100,75, 40, 62, 60,67………and total % is still 64%…

Does it mean I have no hope on passing this coming Sat? HELP!!

Don't the NINJA's say “don't take practice exams, do learning mode only?” Or something like that?

I think we don't learn from practice exams, just drive ourselves nuts. I passed AUD for real and only took one practice exam to get a feel for time. I finished in an hour (practice test) and got like 71%, not an ego booster. The day of at Prometric took me the full 4 hours.

The Practice Exams are supplemental MCQs is the way I look at it. I got like 74-74 on both Practice Exams and ended up with a 92.

People who skip the Becker Practice Exams….Exam #1 is a mix of stuff you have seen and NEW questions. Exam #2 is COMPLETELY NEW QUESTIONS. Why would you not want another free 90 MCQs? It is stupid people don't at least go through the MCQs on the PEs.

The SIMS though are nothing like the exam. FAR was close but that is all.

    Journey Started - January 2015
    FAR - 4/2015 - Passed
    AUD - 7/2015 - Passed
    BEC - 8/2015 - Passed
    REG - 11/12/2015 - Passed

I totally disagree that Becker exams are actually harder, you always hear of the people who do better in the actual exam because the people who did worse probably failed, so there is no point in speaking up. There all passed questions of the cpa exam. I believe the actual exam is harder because you have questions that aren't graded and those are the ones you have no clue what they are talking about and can throw you off completely.

The scores on the practice exam in my opinion doesn't have much bearing the knowledge you know has bearing. If you understand the mistakes you made for each question then you have a good chance of not repeating them on the actual exam and that is the key.

    AUD-77
    BEC-70,73,68,74 SH##!!!!!, 80
    REG-73,76
    FAR -74,82
