For those of you who have not taken AUD, the first two times I took it, I was thinking that the SIMS came out of left field and I never saw anything in Becker on some of the questions. This last time I took it (10/10), I realized some of the answers were word for word in the literature so make sure you allocate enough time to SIMS to be able to use research tab.

    FAR- 75
    REG- 82
BEC- 73, 79!! Its over. Am I dreaming?
    AUD- 74, 74, 88

Thank you mandy… Good to know we can find some answers there.

I'm sitting here not knowing what to do. Yesterday's discussion of “5 of 7 sims were on FAR” has me completely flipflopping now. I'm considering dropping AUD and doing FAR next then coming back for AUD.

    AUD - 88
    FAR - 90
    REG - 85
    BEC - 88

katiekanton- don't freak out about AUD sims. Yes some of them come out of left field, but you do not need to know FAR to answer them you just need to know the material and utilize research tab (sometimes they are hard to find but they can be found). They are not going to ask you in depth questions about FAR. Yes, you will need to know how to do a journal entry but nothing complicated.

So would it be more like

    Accounts Receivable…………..100

    Cost of Goods Sold………………75

    Sales Revenue ………………………………..100

    Inventory………………………………………….75

Or would it be more like an exchange with boot and gains to recognize. I can do anything like the first one. If it's the second one or bonds, I'm gonna have to study FAR. To be clear, I'm not asking for the topics of the SIMS, but rather a subjective rating about the difficulty/complexity.

    @katie

Take a deep breath. You have been methodical in your approach. You know the material…you will knock Audit out of the park. In terms of the sims, don't let yourself get stuck on them, if you get one that you are unsure of, go to the next one and then utilize your research tab to try and get info. Sometimes I feel like the research tab is hard to understand..some if it is written in another language. But overall, you can use it to jog your memory. I have taken Audit twice and both times the sims were mostly related to Audit. I know that every exam is different. So, luck of the draw….and remember one sim is a pretest.

I am pulling for ya, I think you will do great! Best of luck tomorrow 🙂

I pushed it off to next week when I got sick, I just haven't updated my signature. I'm also gonna add in Wiley, just in case.

Thanks for the comfort. I'm gonna try not to fret, but yesterday's posts about it really worry me.

I've been through all the CPAexcel MCQs at least twice and taken ridiculous notes, but I still feel nowhere near prepared for tomorrow. I felt better about FAR, which sounds crazy to me.

    AUD: 92 (10/2011)
    BEC: 82 (7/2011)
    FAR: 55 (8/2010); 88 (8/2011)
    REG: 62 (8/2009); 87 (1/7/12)
    DONE!

    AUD – 10/29/11

    BEC – 1/7/12

    REG – 2/25/12

    FAR – TBD

Just took AUD today. The multiple choice questions were similar to Becker's questions (some were tricky though). Overall, I think I did well. The simulations were tough. Does anyone know how the simulations are graded? Partial credit is given, right?

    FAR - 76
    AUD - 88!!! DONE!!!!!!!!
    BEC - 76
    REG - 77

How do you assess any similarities of the actual AUD MCQs to Wiley Test Bank. I have been reading post that it is pretty similar to Becker. Hopefully Wiley and Beckers material are close enough…Any advice is appreciated. Thanks!

Tootsie- glad you had a good exam experience! From what I understand, the SIMs are weighted similar to the MCQs and partial credit is available. Did you go in with a time schedule? If so, what was it and were you able to stick with it? I'm deciding between 1.5 hrs or 2 hrs for the SIMs.

    Good morning all –

I thought I'd share my exam experience from yesterday. First of all, the electricity blinked in the test center while I was on the beginning of testlet #2. Luckily, one of the TCAs happened to be in the room so my moment of panic was short lived because he assured us everything had been saved and everything was fine. It took almost 15 minutes (I'm guessing) to get everything back up and running, but there was my test, right where I had left it. I used my time wisely, writing out notes and stuff while I waited and other test takers freaked out.

FAR content – I would say that VERY basic accounting knowledge is all you need for the “FAR” content.

TBS – Thank you to everyone who mentioned that the research tab would help you tremendously on the crazy TBSs. It really did. It was so helpful I'm starting to think they are secretly research tabs.

Timing – I had about 3 hours for the TBS, and I left with about 1.5 hours left on the clock.

    Hope this helps!

    AUD: 92 (10/2011)
    BEC: 82 (7/2011)
    FAR: 55 (8/2010); 88 (8/2011)
    REG: 62 (8/2009); 87 (1/7/12)
    DONE!

Very wise use of the downtime, katelyn! Glad it all worked out.

eatrunCPA – I did not have a time schedule. I took about 2.75 hours on the multiple choice and a little over an hour on the SIMs. I was also able to review my answers. I think that 1.5 hours should be enough on the SIMS. Good luck!

I am starting to study for BEC today. Is it all multiple choice?

Tootsie- Thanks! BEC has 72 MCQs (3 testlets with 24 each) and 3 written communication tasks.

Just took AUD (for second time), I'd say the MCQ were a bit easier than last time. I don't think I've learned any more from studying between this and last time, they were just legitimately easier (or on concepts I was strong in).

The SIMS though were not so much. Only one research question (boo) and some of the others were of concepts I was familiar with but were VERY awkward and unclear. I know I aced the research question, think I got 100% on another one but the others I'd be lucky if I got half of each one.

I went into the SIMS so pumped up thinking I was doing awesome but they brought me down FAST. I got a 74 last time, here's hoping I improved by at least 1 point.

    REG: 85
    AUD: 74, 85
    FAR: 74 (sigh)
BEC: 80 (don't even ask me how)

When I say C-P you say 'Ayyyyy show me the money'
