I took my AUD test last Sunday. I prepared myself for 2.5 months using Becker , Jeff's Notes (limited use), and Wiley test Bank (not worth my money).
Overall, Becker's materials prepared me enough for the test. A few questions in the test were exactly the same as in Becker, but none of the subjects in the test surprised me at all.
I can't quite tell the difficulty level of the three MC testlets , except the 2nd and 3rd testlet were much wordier and trickier.
Testlet 1 - medium
Testlet 2 - medium
Testlet 3 - wordier/trickier and the answer choices were similar to one another, thus trickier.
Subjects covered in the test varied but one subject was heavily tested to the point I got the same exact question in two different testlets. LOL. Fortunately the subject was my strong area.
SIMS - there's one sim that was actually a FAR subject. How did it end up in AUD? One sim was difficult because the instruction wasn't clear and I didn't know what it had asked. the instruction is only one sentence long, and I was like "eh??". I hope this one was a pretest. Got one AL sim , found it word for word.
Overall feeling after leaving the test: cautiously optimistic
My strategies in taking the test:
1. For MCQ, as I was reading the question if there's word such as "except" or double negative word, I would write it down on paper. As I was reading the answer choices, I would made a note on the paper whether the answer choice is correct or incorrect. Rather than doing the process of elimination in my head, I prefer on paper so I don't make silly mistakes. This helped especially in a wordier/tricker question.
2. When I was confused between two choices, I would re-read the question and most of the time I got a better clarity on what it had asked for and look for anything wrong in each answer choice. The one that still stands true is hopefully the correct answer.
For non AL SIMS, if you have time , take advantage of the research tool. If you can't find the answer quickly, don't waste time on researching just move on to the next tab. Come back to it again when you have time.
I hope I pass. Good luck guys!
