I felt the test was easy from 11/2 and I also failed with a 71.

I can only guess that I didn't answer the real questions as well as i answered the test questions.

I felt at least as good as I did from BEC where I scored an 83 and way better than I felt out of REG where i had a 75.

The part that kills me the most is how little of this material is used practice at least compared to the other exams. I honestly don't know what I can do differently so I'll have to tackle it by going over everything again.

Took AUD today:

Testlet 1-3, medium difficulty. I did not notice any changes in difficulty which is a bad sign, huh! The questions are better compared to my 1st attempt. Last time, the questions were lengthy and wordy but this time, they are short like 1-2 lines.

Do not skip Audit Sampling and Auditing with Technology. This exam is unpredictable. Two major areas in my review that were heavily tested in my 1st attempt, but they are not this time, so crazy.

The SIMS are brutal. I did not use the AL on my 1st attempt but I used it this time. I'm glad people here are sharing the techniques on how to find answers using the AL. I used it for 3 SIMS including research. The other 3 SIMS are FAR related. There's no way I can use the AL for those. Know your journal entries, ratios and expect more computations.

Took AUD today:

I can certainly say it was much different than the last time I took it.. or maybe I just prepared better (thats what I'm hoping for). There were a couple questions that I was able to answer specifically from Ninja Notes and Audio (woohoo!) but I'm hoping I pass.

As previous poster mentioned, I'm glad I utilized Authoritative Literature to help me answer questions. I used it not only for the research sim, but for about 3 others. :) I had about 2 hours and 15 minutes to finish all Sims and when all was said and done, 44 minutes left. I'm hoping I get my 75!

OMG...I totally bombed the Sims on AUD today...I think I may have gotten 3 right out of 7 and hoped for the best on the other 4....I think I did pretty well on the MCs as the testlets definitely got harder and wordier...I don't think that's enough to pass...o_O Definitely study IFAC...read the book..there are so many questions that none of the supplements cover..it's the minor things..if using Becker definitely study Chapter 5...Chapter 2-4 were nonexistent...what a bomber...hopefully you get a broader test than mines...

AUD today. Didn't really notice any change in difficulty in the MCQ testlets, but I thought they were all manageable. Sims were difficult, but the AL really helped me nail at least 3 of them, and the other 3 non-research sims were not bad, however I'm pretty sure of the one that was pre-test. Very awkwardly worded. Research sim was ridiculous, found the right section, but couldn't figure out the paragraph to save my life. Very vague.

Overall, easier than I expected, and I think Wiley/Yaeger prepared me well. We shall see!

Took my second shot at the exam yesterday.

It seemed like the testlets were medium - medium - hard. You never know though.

For the most part, I was able to get a lot of answers down to two. I hate this exam, because it will give you two of the right answers but one is just a little more correct than the other.

The sims were actually quite manageable even though I was really intimidated by them having come from two BEC exams that didn't involve them.

I found my research question right away (the beauty of "search within") and was able to complete one other entirely based on the authoritative lit.

Based on Nam's advice I budgeted myself two hours for the sims and actually ended up having closer to 2:10. I rushed through my first testlet thinking I was behind. I finished with about half an hour left. DEFINITELY leave ample time for the sims, you don't want to leave them blank and not be able to search the authoritative lit!

I took my exam at 5 p.m. and I am definitely going to avoid that in the future. I was so exhausted and unfocused by the time the third testlet came around.

I have no idea how it went. I think I could have studied harder.

I took my AUD exam yesterday. The testlets didn't seem to get harder or easier. Overall, I think half of MCQ's were cake. My SIM's were ok, I think. I used AL on 2 of them. It's amazing how much info you can find on there to help. I really need to pass this......... Is the Dec 7 date still accurate for our grade release?

Took AUD yesterday. Couldn't really notice a significant difference in the difficulty between the 3 MCQ testlets, but the third testlet definitely included wordier questions. Felt Becker adequately prepared me. The SIMs had concepts I was familiar with but in a context that was out of left field - I.e. I get the concept of inherent, control and detection risk, but applying it to transactions....geez. Just hoping I got enough points from the sims to get me the 75. Man, why can't these tests just be multiple choice and test your KNOWLEDGE and not your reading comprehension.

Took AUD yesterday. Felt each testlet was about medium. I tagged about 5 in each testlet to review and feel like I either came up with the correct answer or narrowed it down between 2. I used the AL on about 5 sims which was awesome. The other two I feel pretty confident I got at least 75% right. I studied the least for this exam, but used NINJA notes for it, so maybe I studied more efficiently and hopefully more effectively! Or maybe I just bombed it and don't know it. I felt better walking out of this exam than I did REG or BEC, and that makes me nervous.

I sure hope I'm 75% done. On to FAR my friends and hoping I'm not looking back to AUD after score release.

@importracr317 - You have no idea how happy your post made me feel. I've been reading these threads almost everyday since my exam (11/19/12) hoping someone else had the same SIMs as me! I felt as though I nailed the MCQ because they went from easy (real easy, in fact) - Medium - Medium/Harder. But just as you said - the SIMS were soooooo left field!!!! I definitely felt that I could use AL for 2 of them (1 of them being the actual research question). And also similar to you, I'm hoping my MCQ will carry me (especially since 60% is greater than 40%, right? lol). Do you (or does anyone) know if you get partial credit for understanding the concepts in the SIMs even if the answers are wrong? For instance, showing the relationship between risk factors but not necessarily answering with the correct increase or decrease? Prayers to everyone who find out their scores this week or the next upcoming weeks!

The second time around: it WILL be better!

I'm loving this forum and the little helpful nuggets of knowledge I gain from each post I read. Hopefully I can contribute a bit by sharing my AUD experience.

Prep: Becker Self Study. Completed all lectures and homework. Completed many progress tests usually scoring between 85 and 95%. Elected not to take either of the final exams because I was running short on time and I like to be able to immediately read the explanations for any questions I get wrong. All-in-all I would estimate that I spent between 100 and 110 hours (over 7 weeks) in preparation for the test.

The morning of: Woke up at 5 am, did a 100-question progress test, ate a breakfast sandwich, drank some coffee, then drove to the test center for my 8 am exam.

Multiple choice: I did not notice much of an increase in the difficulty of the first three testlets (oh no!). I marked 3 questions in the first testlet, 3 in the second, and 7 in the third. There was only one question totally from left filed where I could not narrow it down to two choices. I took 40 minutes for each testlet, two hours total.

Sims: I got two research simulations, which I felt confident about. One other simulation I was able to pull directly from the AL. Three of the others I felt pretty good about, but may not have been 100% correct on. One was a total BEAST. This thing took me over 30 minutes. I have no idea how I did on this one - I had to fill in 15 boxes and there were multiple steps involved with coming up with each of the 15 answered. Sims took me one hour total.

So the whole thing took me 3 hours, and I didn't take any breaks. Hope I did okay! This was my first exam, so I really have no idea what my score might be.

Took Audit on 11/29. I did not feel that prepared going into it but as I started taking the test, the questions seemed much easier than expected. Got through the 1st testlet in 20 min, 2nd in 30 min, and took 35-40 min on the third. I marked about 3 or 4 for review on the first two testlets each, and about 6 on the third. I did not notice much of a change in difficulty. Had well over two hours on the sims. I did the research sim first, which was actually quite difficult. 3 of the other sims, I was able to find the answers directly from the authoritative literature. The others were very straightforward and not complex at all. I have a really good feeling about the exam overall, but that makes me think that I might have overlooked a bunch of stuff or misread questions. So I don't really know at this point. I did well over 2,000 mc questions but did not take any full length simulated tests. Guess I'll know Thursday hopefully...if not, Friday.

MCQ was like: very hard - easy - easy

I passed other three at the first try, all over 80 but never felt testlet became harder or easier.

I wonder if I got all pretest in testlet 1. otherwise, I failed this time.

*SIGH*. I realized i completely missed the research question. I mean COMPLETELY. I was in the wrong standards. Its going to be so annoying retaking this test.

I took AUD on 11/27. The second testlet seemed slightly more difficult, but the difference wasn't as striking as with FAR. I had a very difficult research question but eventually found the right paragraph -- it was almost word-for-word what they were asking me to locate. Overall the sims didn't seem that difficult and I left with 45 minutes to spare and feeling good. Either I was well-prepared and the score will reflect it, or I'm delusional and will see a failing score tomorrow. Good luck to everyone else waiting on the score release!!

Took AUD today. 1st testlet: Easy-Medium; 2nd testlet: Medium; 3rd testlet: Medium. Sim #1: research was not what I was expecting but I think I got it right; sims #2 - 6: I understood the requirements but not sure how I did; sim #7: YIKES! Very long compared to the others. I had 2 sims that required a lot of input fields and calculations.

Not sure how I did. The only thing I am sure of is...that I'm not sure how I did. I pray to God I pass.

Took AUD on 11/24. The MCQs seemed really easy. There weren't any that I had no idea on. On one I remember knowing the correct answer (because I had the same question in becker) but it wasn't showing there so I had to narrow it to two other choices and pick one... On the SIMs there were two research questions - one I nailed - it was easy for me. The other - the real research question, I was so annoyed because I found the same answer multiple times in the AL and didn't know which one to pick - think I ended up with picking the first one. The other SIMs were Gross. I didn't even know where to start on them and the AL wasn't helping...I made my best guess and finished 30 minutes early. So we shall see how I did.

Took Audit today. MCQ were manageable. They seemed to get harder in the second Testlet which should be a good sign. There were a bunch I remember right from Becker.

Sims were not too bad. There was only one where I was basically guessing answers. I also had two research questions. One of them took me a LONG time, but I eventually found something that might be right.

I feel better after this one than I did with FAR.

Does anyone know when I will receive my score if I took it today (part of the extended window)? Thanks

I'm pretty sure scores are released six (business?) days after the last day in the testing window. I would expect Dec. 14th at the earliest, but more likely the Monday or Tuesday after that (17th or 18th). My fingers are crossed for you; I've got AUD today, too!

@audiox - I am guessing that we'll see our scores middle of next week, hopefully. Last window was extended 8 days as well and people that took their exam in the extended window started getting their scores on the 12th of September. So I'm going to be positive and think I'll have scores mid next week.

Took audit yesterday. I am actually feeling ok about it. First testlet was ok, easyish marked 4, 2nd testlet was harder could narrow most questions down to 2 answers but wasn't sure then which of the remaining 2 to pick. Third testlet was hard again. SIMs, my enemy were actually manageable, I was able to use the authoritative literature to complete two tabs.

Best I've felt walking out of an exam yet. Hopefully that's a good sign, hoping to pull out a 75.

How does this happen? I came out of the Aud exam figuring my chances were honestly about 50/50 for passing. Just checked (and rechecked) my score: 99. I have never been so unable to gauge my exam performance. This test is simply bizarre.

Definitely understand how you felt. I felt like I failed when I left my AUD exam. I was sure I was missing the easiest questions in the world. Checked my score yesterday and I had a 98. Insane stuff.

It seems people who felt the exam was difficult and failed are passing at a high score while people with confidence are failing.

I felt the 1st testlet was the hardest, 2nd and 3rd were easy, straightforward, very similar to Becker. I'm sure I answered most of MCQs in 2nd&3rd correctly. This means I failed...

Just wanted to share my exam experience today. The mcqs I got were medium-medium-hard in difficulty. Becker mcqs were excellent in preparing me for this section of the exam. In my opinion, there is No need to work on the Wiley mcqs if youve done becker's at least 3 times for practice.

As for the sims, as always, they were tough. I allocated 2:10 hrs for this part of the exam. You better know the audit risk formula by heart and the important reports to answer the sims that i got.Their questions were tricky and definitely make use of the authoritative lit. At one point during the exam, i got so fraustrated because i failed to reread becker 2011's a4 section and i believe all the sims were mostly from this chapter.

Overall, i do not feel confident that i passed but if i do, my score will be in the 70s range again... Now onto BEC....

hope you guys who took the exam recently do great.. i'm planning to sit for the exam sometime in the next two weeks. I haven't completed the becker aud course, but I feel confident on most of the material except for A4. I get really confused with this chapter. Any suggestions to make the 'material' stick better? I'm planning to go through mcqs one more time.

Journey begins in July 2012.

I took Audit today and I'm not feeling at all confident. I didn't see much of a difficulty change between the 1st and 2nd testlet, and the 3rd was maybe a little harder. There were quite a few I just plain didn't know the answer to - seeming to be based on memorizing some random concept. There were some subjects that weren't tested AT ALL.. I don't know how that can happen when they are major concepts you spend a lot of time on. The same thing happened with FAR - it all feels so darn RANDOM. The simulations weren't too bad except for the one based on the worst possible subject from FAR. I'm hoping that was pretest. Overall I don't feel like I did as well as I did on FAR, but I guess I just have to wait until 2/5 to find out.

Next up is REG, and I start studying for that one in a couple of days.

As for the SIMS, I think I did ok. I made some educated guesses... at least I consider them educated haha.. I highly dislike that i'll have to wait about a month just to receive my test score.
