@iddyrashy – The more I looked at the questions with the answers I was able to understand the reasons behind why the answers were what they were. I'll have to find more SIMs on this topic so I can get comfortable.

@iddyrashy Is it the allowance for assessing control risk low?

Like if the allowance is low (less acceptable), then you need a larger sample size?

I thought the expected population deviation rate has a direct relationship with sample size.

I expect more deviations, I need a bigger sample. If I Expect less deviations, I need a smaller sample.

If tolerable deviation rate is low, I need a larger sample. If tolerable deviation rate is high, I need a smaller sample?

FYI -I did not like sampling very much either.

“expect”= direct relationship to sample size

“tolerable”= inverse relationship to sample size

@NYCaccountant that correct, I think the relationship are straight forward, but sometime they twist questions and I always get into a trap. I need to spend more time on variable sampling this weekend. But that is my weakest spot and IT Audit (OMG). I am better off with government auditing that IT.

IT Audit is Hard! Idc what anyone states lol. I barely passed that section first time through. The questions were so hard, at least to me. A lot of WTF is this moments. I actually just looked and I was 28/35 on Wiley for my first run through. I have always been 70-90% on my first run through for every section I've taken so far, and I was similar for Audit.

28 of 35 is not bad. am at 21 of 28 in Wiley. There is many Gotcha moment in IT audit. Becker didn't do a good job on IT audit. I look at my old test book and it was a disaster.

I am just taking my chances, hope it wont be a large portion on my exam.

I have another question about audit risk. If inherent or control risk change does detection risk always have to change inversely? In my MCQ that's usually the case but I'm wondering if it always has to be like that.

lsutigers03 @ DR has inverse relation with RMM( IRXCR), so when any of the two risk change then detection risk must change. If for instance management convoluted the internal control then Inherit risk increase and detection risk ( the risk that auditor will failed to detect the MM) will decrease.

Because of that inverse relationship, then it have to change when either IR or CR change.

    Thanks guys!

I am doing a second pass through of those darn evidence questions and trying to actual put some thought into the questions and trying to think through the different answers. I am starting to score better but definitely need some work. Might just dedicate Saturday to Audit Evidence.
