    Hi,

    I am just wondering,

Do I need to pay extra attention to the differences between ISAs and GAAS?

After going through Becker MCQs, I got very few MCQs about those differences.

    FAR 90 - 11/16/2015
    BEC 81 - 2/14/2016
    REG 87 - 5/23/2016
    AUD - 8/8/2016

Hiya! Happy 4th of July everyone. As I sit here and try to study for my 3rd retake of AUD, last score being a sad 73, I can't help but wonder what the 4th of July will be like next year when hopefully I'm not studying anymore. I do have a question though. My last exam I was stronger and comparable in my MCQs, but I was weaker in my SIMs…sadly I thought I nailed those SIMs this time. In an effort for the third time to be the charm with this exam, any suggestions on how to plow through this? I am sitting for the exam on July 16th. I have access to Roger CPA Review as well as CPAExcel. Last time I took AUD I was using those two programs as well as NINJA. What's the best way to beef up my SIM score? Hope for better SIMs next exam? My current trending score for MCQs is 83%-85%…any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I wish Becker would let you just purchase MCQs and SIMs, but they don't. I can't imagine studying for AUD for another second…thanks for any suggestions.

I'm confused here. anyone, please help: “what is the difference between “must” and “should be”?

Question: Each page of a nonissuer’s financial statements reviewed by an accountant MUST include the following references:

    Answer:

    1. Subject to Compilation Restriction = NO
    2. See Independent Accountant’s Review Report = NO
    3. Unaudited, See Accountant’s Disclaimer = NO

AR-C 90 says; review report should be referenced on each page of statements; “See Independent Accountant’s Review Report”. my question is, why the answer is NO in #2? is it because of the word Must versus should be?

Please shed some light on this. Thank you.

#2. In a review engagement, the accountant should establish an understanding with the entity regarding the services to be performed. The understanding should include all of the following except a

    A. Description of the nature and limitations of the services to be performed.
    B. Description of the report the accountant expects to issue.
    C. Provision that the engagement cannot be relied upon to disclose errors, fraud, or noncompliance with laws and regulations.
    D. Provision that any errors, fraud, or noncompliance with laws and regulations that come to the accountant’s attention need not be reported to the entity.

my question: between B and D, why the best answer is D? why not B? can anyone shed some light on this, please. does it mean, that in understanding phase of review engagement, we can describe the review report that we expect to issue?

pulling out my hair already. please help. thanks.

@Warrior I haven't started at it yet with AUD. But in regards to the difference between “must” and “should be” is that must = mandatory, and shoould be = recommended, but not mandatory. Hope that helps.

    Hello Everyone,

I am planning on taking audit at the end of this month and using Becker material. So far I have completed 3.5 out of the 6 chapters and not feeling that confident. I am scoring between 78-80% on progress test and I write out everything to kind of get a big picture feel. I am hoping to finish chapters 5 and 6 by Monday the 18th and then two weeks of non-stop MCQ's and focusing on sections where I struggle. I also have the audit Ninja Notes, but not sure if I should go through them or if I will have time to go through them. This will be my first section of the CPA exam so any advice is greatly appreciated!

@A1lessio I just started today. Personally I like re-writing notes, mnemonics, formulas, etc to help me grasp concepts better, if you are like me maybe do that with some of your motes. Also try to avoid those questions that keep getting reapeted when you do practice exams (mainly Becker) so that you can concentrate in the concepts you are trouble with now. And MCQs in and out everyday.

Hi all. Using Ninja MCQ I've done 1250 question attempts, trending 73.5%, but one of my categories is significantly worse than the rest. Here is my breakdown:

    1.) 91%
    2.) 60%
    3.) 69%
    4.) 74%
    5.) 72%
    6.) 75%

As you can see, my understanding the engagement score is significantly worse for than the rest. Any tips for tackling this section?
