So I am taking my Audit exam. I never had any experience with the exam because it is my first one CPA exam I’m ever taking. I purchased Becker material. I want to know how everyone is studying for the exam.

So if everyone has time, please post your study methods here and what you did when and all. I would really appreciate it.

Some helpful hints since this is your first exam.

Go through your material, study the chapter(watch videos/read), then do the questions after the chapter.

I would suggest going through the first 3rd of the material then doing a massive review weekend where you just do MC questions until you can't possibly do anymore.

Do that for each third of the material (regardless of which exam you are working on)

    For Audit only:

Be familiar with the authoritative literature for the SIMS. The literature is the most helpful in audit and you can find exact answers to some of the SIMS in the literature if you know how to use it well. Don't focus on practicing tons of SIMS. Focus on practicing looking things up in the AL.

For audit I did the most MC questions out of any of the four sections, I did over 6000 MC questions for audit. I found that repetition of the questions was the best way to learn this section of the exam. If need be purchase the NINJA MCQ from this website (it was very very helpful for AUD).

When you get to the exam audit is a four hour test. You will find that for this exam that is MORE than enough time. The difficulty with the audit exam is the questions are very particular and many of the answers will be near correct but only one is correct. Take your time with each question and read each answer in its entirety and eliminate them until you have the most correct answer selected.

Best Exam Advice (came from a fortune cookie after I got a 74 on my first exam):

Start by watching the videos and doing the questions for each chapter. I did a progress test after each chapter to keep the previous material fresh. I didn't read through the book on my own since you pretty much read it as they go through the chapters. After finishing all of chapters do the final exams and keep pounding progress tests to learn which areas you are weak in.
