AUD test exp.: if i feel like I passed does it mean I failed?

my second CPA experience, overall better and less stressful than my BEC experience. I am definitely getting proficient at this test taking (aka rolling up my pants when going for a break-it impressed the prometric lady lol) i walked out of prometric at like 930pm- the latest time on the last day of the testing window. (in retrospect i dont recommend it in case anything goes wrong, you want a cushion to retake it)

first MCQ set was ridiculous easy i feel i got 29/30 right

second MCQ set was very HARD i feel like i got 15/30 right

third MCQ was harder than the 1st but easier than 2nd~maybe 20/30 correct

SIMS i probably went 6/7 or 5/7, including the research one.

that sounds like passing right? i feel pretty confident walking out of this one which i hear is a bad sign, im pretty worried because after my first exam i felt like i failed coming out of it and surprisingly got 86.

i heard if you feel like you passed you most likely failed, and if you feel like you failed- you most likely passed (as confirmed by my first testing experience!)

i hope the opposite is true. has anybody been able to break this paradoxical mold? is this a theory based on trivial evidence?

happy first day of blackout month happy holidays everybody dont study too much for January test dates-enjoy the holiday season! 😀 😀 😀

@eesti I just took auditing (passed it before but it had expired) and that is exactly how I felt also. First testing was extrememly easy, second seemed very hard, and third was still a little hard but not as hard as the second testlet. I feel 5/7 maybe on sims? I hope that means a pass! I hear the better you did on the previous testlet, the harder the next one is (for MCQ), but that could be a rumor.

Overall, I think you are in a good position. Sounds like a pass to me. Now it is time for the dreadful wait until scores are released!

    AUD-71,81(expired), 81
    BEC-72,79
    FAR-77 (after multiple attempts)
    REG-83 (after multiple attempts)

eesti – what does your gut tell you? if i had listened to mine for both exams i could have spared myself a lot of stress. at least you kept your head during the exam. good luck! it is a short wait for scores, right?

I thought I got a 90 for AUD. I got a 90. 🙂 I've actually guessed both my passing scores. Maybe I couldn't guess my failing one because my subconscious didn't want to admit it. Lol

    FAR | 81 - July 21 15
    REG | 66 - Oct 1 15 | 87 - Jan 7 16
    AUD | 90 - Oct 29 15
    BEC | 86 - Nov 25 15

we should do a survey of what people thought they got and what they actually got.

but of course for it to be unbiased it will have to start with prospective (future) score leases as the ones you have already got back will skew your judgement bcz youll adjust your guess accordingly.

I felt very confident about my AUD exam and got a 71. In hindsight, I think it is because I was just coming off of FAR and thought the whole process of studying and taking the exam seemed easier to me. Not trying to discourage you at all, but just sharing my experience with you. I think you should stay positive and hopeful that you passed but don't be completely sold on the idea that you did, just in case you did get that 71. Best of luck to you!

I took AUD in October and thought I did pretty well. I was very ready for the SIMs and had enough time. Maybe high 80's?
    .
Well, I passed at least. These tests are hard.
And there are no A's, B's or C's (well, maybe for a few elijahwattssells, there are some A+'s), there are only P's!

eesti – my gut told me i did very well. my freakin' out mind told me it was disaster. if i could have remembered the actual exam rather than the total freak out i might have believed my gut. i fell apart. why? i still don't know. just hope it doesn't happen again. trust your gut! mine was right for both my exams.

I was worried about the same thing. I felt very confident walking out of that one which is not like BEC or FAR (thought BEC could be anywhere from 60-80, but was sure I failed FAR). For REG I really felt confident, but tried to convince myself I may not pass just so I wouldn't be disappointed. I constantly worried myself after audit remembering all those who thought they aced it & ended up not passing. Should have just trusted my instinct on this one & stressed a little less. Got my score back Tuesday & it was a 98.

Took AUD. Felt good with MCQs and manageable SIMs, an easy research SIM. Felt like I got at least above 88.

    Instead, a 79.

    BEC 83 (AUG '15)
    AUD 79 (OCT '15)

First time I took AUD I felt really good, and walked out thinking “well that wasn't too bad”. I have to tell you that when scores were released, I started blankly at the screen and thought they MUST have transposed my score of 58… I could have bet money I had passed.

When i re-took it I walked out totally depressed because I didn't feel like I had done any better than the first time, I honestly felt like it went “ok” and it didn't feel like I had my rear end handed to me… so I was prepared for another failure…. however, I ended up with a 76.

    BEC - 66, 77 (3/14* expired), 82 (11/15)
    AUD - 58 (4/14), 76 (8/14)
    REG - 75 (6/14)
    FAR - 72 (11/14), 67 (1/15), 68 (5/15), 68 (7/15), 80!!!! (11/15)
