What mnemonics, phrases or information would you write down immediately before you start on question 1 for AUD?

the standard unqualified opinion (RAPMEAM); the internal control components (CRIME); the list of assertions (COVERU) belonging to balances, transactions, and disclosure; maybe the quality control standards (HELPME); list of attestation engagements and what type of report is allowed for each…

some people will say this might be a waste of time, but the thing is, questions on these concepts will definitely appear and i'm going to have to write these mnemonics out eventually so might as well do it from the start (plus, you never know, you might blank out and forget something)… i think it's worth it to take 10 minutes to write these out

    BEC - 67, 79 - (expires 5/24)
    REG - 74, 72, 77 - Key to Passing: RTFQ
FAR - 77 - Chance favors the prepared mind.
    AUD - 64, (5/14) - FREEDOM!! (i hope)

I drew a smile face and referred to it when feeling stressed and wanting to walk out.

It helped me gain about 3 to 4 points.

I drew the chart from becker that had all the different types of opinions and when those opinions would be appropriate. I also wrote down as many mnemonics that I could remember, I was actually writing them down as they would come to me during the entire exam. Funny no matter how short a time period from looking at them just before I walked in the exam to the point of actually being able to write them down, some of them still disappeared from my brain for a little while!

Is that the case for audit? Come to think of it, on this forum. Not a lot of people talk about what they write before the exam starts? Should I do that too? Do people often do that? I am definitely doing the smiley face though. Positive psychology might work.

    @ home Stretch

there is no need to correct my post. This does not violate any exam disclosures.

haha. @ CPAer… I don't think Home Stretch was trying to say it was against disclosures… I think He/She was trying to say “be carefull” as focusing on writing too many things during the first ten minutes may get you to time out and not be able to take the exam…..

Am I the only one that thinks it's ridiculous that they give you 10 minutes to read the instructions before your real timer begins, yet they give you no indication of how much time has passed?!

Am I blind and missing a timer, or are they intentionally doing that since technically that time is to read the first set of instructions?

Don't write anything. Use the scrap paper only when it's needed to answer the question.

10 minutes is a long time. Just don't go overboard. Maybe even practice writing them down at home before you go at some point with a clock in front of you.
