    Hi All-

Love reading the posts…very informative and motivating…here is my situation and question:

For my last 2 tests, I missed BEC with a 74 and Audit with a 73 and just failed Audit again…I have until next July to finish and I only have REG out of the way, so I am taking Audit and BEC back to back, and giving myself about a month to study for each….I feel somewhat comfortable with getting it done with that timeline. Being that I failed audit about 2 weeks ago, I think it’s best to keep on audit first. I have used Becker and NINJA notes/audio and I just bought the Wiley book to hopefully see it from a more helpful perspective…can I ask for any advice or input as to how you would recommend tackling this? Thanks!

I would do MCQ's like crazy! Especially Becker's

I just passed AUD for the second time (lost credit) using Becker. The second time I studied for about 3 weeks.

Have you gotten the report stating if you had done weaker/comparable on the MCQ's and SIMS on the exam?

Also, don't forget to use the Authoritative Literature on the SIMS during the exam. I used it for almost all of my SIMS. I had some extra time at the end and would research like crazy even I didn't think the AI would have any information about it. I would often find something that would spark my memory and help answer the question.

Something I would also recommend during the exam, if you aren't already, is mark the questions you are unsure about and then come back to them at the end of the testlet. There were at least 5 MCQ's that I wasn't sure about but another MCQ that I did now would help me remember or even sometimes actually give me the answer (or eliminate answers).

    Hey Kirk!

Thanks for the reply, I scored weaker in the evaluation and reporting, accounting and review services, and the sims…

I agree, from what I have seen the sims can usually be aided by the research tab, but the second time I took it they were more math based, so I really didn't use it as much…I actually felt fine about how I did on them, so I'm a bit curious as to what I screwed up on. With audit in particular, I have been reading the blogs on how the sims are very tough to prepare for and how the Becker sims are very much just a repeat of their book, so I focused on doing multiple choice questions constantly before the test…and on the test I also flagged what I didn't immediately know and went back, and even with all that I finished with tons of time.

In my preparation, on the Becker practice tests I would be around the high 60s/to mid 70's, but going over the questions I missed I understood what I did wrong, and with the actual released questions by the AICPA I scored in the low 80s…and on test day I felt very comfortable, so after missing a couple times I feel like I need to attack it in a different way, so I'm hoping to get some advice on anything at all…thanks to you and anyone else who can help!

    My audit scores were 70-71-93

I used Becker for all 3 and the 3rd test I supplemented with Ninaj Notes and Wiley Test Bank. I would recommend the same. Make sure you go through Becker questions twice, and get 80 to 90% right the second time. Then review Ninja notes and wiley last two weeks.

I recommend supplementing Becker with the Wiley test bank and hammering the MCQs. Take notes on the questions you miss. That helped me pass audit the 2nd go around. Are you planning on rewatching the Becker lectures?

    FAR: 79 (Becker basic)
AUD: 68 (Becker basic), 91 (Becker, WTB, NINJA)
BEC: 64 (blind), 81 (Becker, WTB, NINJA)
REG: 68 (Becker basic), 73 (Becker, WTB, NINJA), REMATCH 2/27

    2 questions:

    1) I just ordered the Wiley 2013 audit book…is the test bank separate?

    2) Yes right now I am re-reading the book and watching lectures on weaker areas…I figure 1 section per day (6 sections) I will have a once through done by next week including re-doing the Becker questions…I was planning on reading the Wiley book right after..the Becker questions I am getting in the 80s and 90s in most areas since its still fairly fresh but my weaker areas I am in the 70s…then when I take the practice test I am scoring lower so I figure I needed some new questions to look at.

Does that sound good or is there a better strategy?

I would definitely watch all lectures, but maybe consider really taking good notes during the lectures you did weaker on. I just really found that making my own notes on the lectures and missed questions helped me understand why the correct answer was correct instead of just memorizing the answers.

I'm not sure if the test bank comes with the book. I do not have the Wiley book. I purchased the test bank through this website.
