I failed AUD for the second time and can’t figure out what software or cram course to buy as a supplemental help to practice TBSs and MCQs. I used CPAexel which is, in my opinion, very weak in regards to simulations part of the exam. I am considering ExamMatrix, Wiley test bank, Bisk, or Gleim simulations-wizard. Help!!!

I've used the Gleim simulation wizard and I think it's pretty good, but I don't put much stock in practicing SIMs. I think you should focus your energy on the concepts and MCQs until your eyes bleed – in that respect, I think the Gleim test bank is superb.

I've also heard a lot of good stuff about the Roger CRAM from some people on this forum.

If you're looking to master the concepts, I highly recommend the CPA review I'm using for all 4 sections: NIU Correspondence CPA Review (cpareview.niu.edu). The way they present the material is so very manageable and they really help you get the big picture as well as the annoying details! It's pricey, but worth every penny.

Thanks KasiaS, I pass MCQs with the results “stronger” than passing candidate and TBSs is my weak area, so I need something to practice TBSs

I see, if that's the case, I can say for sure that the Gleim SIMs are fairly realistic in comparison to the actual exam. I think they would be best for you to practice. The simulation wizard was great for getting me acclimated to the way SIMs are presented when I was getting ready to sit for FAR. Best of luck to you!

Thank you KasiaS,I ordered Wiley test bank and tried it yesterday night. I think Gleim SIMs will be my next step after I finish these. AUD my last exam and it can expire in the beginning of April, so I'm nervous.

I was going to suggest Wiley Test Bank. I think that's what helped me this past time. I rewrote Jeff's NINJA notes and practiced on the test bank until my eyes almost fell off!!

Started sitting in May 2002, on and off. But since 2008 I've been nonstop and my scores are....
    AUD - 39, 48, 56, 65, 68, 73, 76!!! (Finally passed in Oct 2011!!!) Becker, NINJA, & Wiley
    REG - 75 (Lost Credit) 72, 68, 73, 75 (Passed again in Aug 2011) Becker, NINJA, & Wiley
    FAR - 65, 68, 75 (Lost Credit) 68, 73, 73, 80 (Passed again in May 2012) Roger, NINJA, & Wiley
    BEC - 65, 68, 71, 72, 72, 71, 76 (Lost Credit)- 70, 76!!!! I AM DONE!!! - Roger, NINJA, & Wiley
After 10 long years of studying, I AM DONE!!!! Finally a Licensed CPA in the State of New York!!

@Xenia: I second KasiaS comment. Practicing sims doesn't really lead to more success on sims on the exam. Sims are an in depth application of your material. The only thing that helps you pass sims, is knowing the material down and cold. Also, some are worded differently than your studies or are just awkward, so you also just need to sit and think clearly and make logical choices on how to proceed, AND do this in a timely manner. What a mouthful. Study the materials harder and your sims will improve. The extent of time you should spend doing practice sims should be maybe a handful, or to take a break from studying material. If anything, use a particular sim to test your knowledge of a section.

I personally practiced maybe 2-3 sims per section I have taken, and you can see my scores below. Focus on the material because that is the key. Good luck!

    BEC 86 (08/30/11)
    FAR 84 (10/13/11)
    REG 88 (11/08/11)
    AUD 86 (11/29/11)

Yes, I noticed the MCQs' wording is different in Wiley, which is good, cus I can't even force myself study again those I went through many times and remember every answer. Same with the sims. Thanks a lot!
